    Gun safe recommendations?

Be SURE it has locking rods (bolts) top and bottom as well as to the sides. Get a good brand name such as Liberty. Most quality safes come with fire-retardant lining, but that might not matter if your house really goes up. It should include the new(er) door seals that expand when hot. If you...

SW1911 billboard questions (UPDATED again 6/17, with more pictures)

"Will the 8-round mags from the 4566 (for instance) work in the SW1911s?" No. But most, not all, but most 1911 mags will. Good guns, in my opinion. I have three.

UPDATED JUNE 20th - JUST BROKE DOWN AND BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE EXPANDABLE HOSES

Additional suggestion: We put shut-off valves on the end so we can leave pressure on while changing nozzles or sprinklers, etc. We do like the way they shrink for easier storage.

UPDATED JUNE 20th - JUST BROKE DOWN AND BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE EXPANDABLE HOSES

I can't explain your pressure loss since we have four and they deliver same pressure as the hard-rubber hoses. We really like them BUT: They don't last long for us. Of the original four, three have split wide open and had to be tossed. These were used around our yard. We have since bought one...

Anyone here ever fire a Doctor-or complain to your states Medical Board?

Fired two, wrote complaint about one. First one was a FAA Aeromedical Examiner. He took "overly long" to check testicles and for hernias. I complained to the FAA and found out there were other complaints against him by women and a couple other men. His Examiner authority was revoked but he...

    396NG Improved

I wanted to modify mine, too. I substituted the titanium cylinder and had C&S put tritium tubes in their Extreme Duty sight. Since I can and do carry it in a pocket holster from time to time, I wanted the lighter cylinder. C&S opened up the rear sight a bit to accommodate the Big Dot. Works...

    March 29th Vietnam Veterans Day

Ben g1: I came back through SEATAC, Sept. 1971. I was USAF and a SMGT called us off for a debrief. He STRONGLY recommended that anyone not getting right back on an airliner, change to civies. He said there were protesters outside, but I didn't see them. I got right on another bird to St...

    Hi-Standard Sentinel R-101

Thanks, all. I found a lot of cool info on the guns thanks to you, including a thread on this forum from 2016. Sure wish I could figure out how to search for that stuff. Like others, I'm at that age where I can stand only limited big bores or magnums. Sooo, after reading all this, I think...

    Hi-Standard Sentinel R-101

So, this Cheesehead friend of mine emails me some pics to bring a laugh. He got a Hi-Standard Sentinel R-101. 9-shot .22LR. OK so far, eh? 'Cept, this'n has a barrel of just under 2.5", if I can trust his ruler. The aluminum frame is aqua-marine green, or possibly "teal" or turquoise. It has a...

Do you enjoy shooting your edc weapon?

Almost every thing I have is a shooter. So, yes, I shoot all of the guns I carry. Sad thing about getting older is that long-time friends die off. Damn inconsiderate, if you ask me, but I'll get back at 'em before too long. An ever-changing group of us needed ways to get out of the house...

Hard to find Smiths, in shooter grade...

My bottom-line rule is that if I can't shoot it, I don't want it, with a couple exceptions. One exception: My great, great grandfather's Harper's Ferry 1842 rifle that he carried in the War of The Great Rebellion. Though it appears to be in excellent condition, I haven't fired it out of...

    WHO LIKES THE MODEL 29?

My 29-2 and 29 four-screw. I sure like mine. Also have a couple Mountain Guns. I handload everything from Cowboy loads to heavy hunting loads. Actually, I no longer make hunting loads. My hands won't take it any more. Also have 29-10 Lew Horton that I carry concealed from time to time.
