    Trying to identify revolver

Probably a Model 36. The model number isn't on the yoke, it's on the frame under the yoke. Open the cylinder and look at the frame area normally covered by the yoke.

    CMP 1911 Arrived!

Not at all. Numbers were assigned randomly, not chronologically by date received. He's still in.

    I Got Made Today

As would I. If I'm carrying concealed and someone else spots it, it's my fault - not somehow theirs for simply mentioning it to me. The waiter did the OP a favor - the next time it might be some idiot screaming "gun" or calling the police or such.

First pistol, Sheild, can't insert full magazine..

Try a second magazine to see if you have the same problem (I doubt that's the problem, but it's easy to do). Very likely it's a strong spring and you're not applying enough force. That last 1/8th of an inch or so of magazine travel when seating requires much more pressure since you're now...

Would like to hear your thoughts...41 Magnum for Police.

More than anything else, the model 19 killed it. Granted, the model 19 ultimately presented it's own problems. A loaded down .41 Magnum round in a (then non-existent) L frame could have been a different story.

Shield 9mm, Can't Rack Slide, Live Round in Chamber

Admittedly I may have missed things since this is a long, though interesting, thread. But I believe this was a reloaded case (marked "IMI" I think). If it was, then the case presumably had a flash hole to begin with. A bit of debris, say a small piece of the original primer's anvil...

Shield 9mm, Can't Rack Slide, Live Round in Chamber

Great!! After literally writing a book (above), I notice that Speedo2 covered the issue earlier in one sentence. Apologies to him. And just about any reloader should have a bullet puller to pull the round apart. Tracking down anything blocking the flash hole will take some care since...

Shield 9mm, Can't Rack Slide, Live Round in Chamber

I encountered a very similar situation at a local range maybe 10 years ago (if I haven't missed anything here). A shooter was firing new, brand name 9MM rounds in an M&P semi. At some point the handgun got solidly locked up after he pulled the trigger. He thought it had fired (and IIRC it had...

MGW M&P shoe clamp good for 2.0 compact?

Worked for my 2.0 compact. I got the MGW shoe from Brownells, but I'd think Midway sells the same one. Note that the original S&W front sight seemed to be darn near welded in!! I did hit it with Kroil, but didn't soak it for any period of time like Dave (above) suggests. OTOH, the Dawson...

    Mystery Powder Measure

Belding and Mull (unless, of course, someone else used essentially the same design - in which case I haven't a clue)

Murabito Revolver Safety - Drop Safe?

I'm certainly in no position to speak authoritatively, but I find it challenging to believe that 60,000 of these conversions are out there. Where are they? The mechanism sounds simple and clever, but there are often surprises with modifications that are not well vetted (which is my view of...

How do you re-tension a mainspring?

I'm not saying your spring isn't improperly bent, but: At one time folks would shorten the strain screw to lighten the trigger pull. At a later point, someone would shim the shortened screw to increase the tension. If that's the story here, you actually need a longer strain screw. Granted...
