    Model 60 - ' Skipping '

So I stopped by my local shop yesterday on the way home and I was asked to look at a model 60 in for a cleaning and repair. The claim was that the cylinder was 'skipping' - upon examination of the pistol it appears that the cylinder stop, every once in a while in double action, will not fully...

    That moment when.....

Imagine when I removed it to see the condition - upon further examination of the frame and the threads - it appears some sort of loctite was used. My heart sank when I saw it as I then felt I would have to do through a tougher job to make a repair. Luckily after cleaning the hole out and...

Why don't you want a safety on semi auto?

Wow I have read every post in this thread - my head hurts - I am a no body and a new guy here - but it seems like it appears that this is like every other forum. :) That's good and bad Good that there is a free and open echange of ideas Bad in the sense that good data gets covered up by...

    Hammer Trigger Fitting

I look at that and it appears true and straight to the eye - I can look again tomorrow. The boss on the frame side seems fine as well - again I will check. The hammer is much too close on the frame side as it appears to bind when not under mainspring pressure, enough to warrant a concern and...

    Hammer Trigger Fitting

Looking for some advice from someone that has more experience than I do. I am NOT a trained gunsmith, however I am certainly not bubba, that I can assure you. The 19-3 basket case that I received that had serious push off and the cross threaded strain screw, I started to fit my NOS hammer to...

    That moment when.....

......you realize that the pistol you bought online - is not what it appears to be. Forget the pushoff that was created by a bubba trigger job....and someone think in parts just drop in.... You then find this too - how in heavens name do you strip a strain screw on a 19-3? :( Threads aren't...

    S&W 4516 No Dash - opinion

Hi All, Was able to snag for the collection a LEO trade in 4516 with a bunch of mags holsters box papers etc. The only thing it did not have other than some armorer markings under the frame was a service history from the PD. What are your thoughts on this barrel? From what I gather as a Det...
