Hi All,

Was able to snag for the collection a LEO trade in 4516 with a bunch of mags holsters box papers etc. The only thing it did not have other than some armorer markings under the frame was a service history from the PD. What are your thoughts on this barrel?

From what I gather as a Det. weapon it was only qualified with.

Thanks for your thoughts

looks o.k. to these untrained eyes. Is there an issue that we members can't see in the pictures?

No issues just trying to guage potential Serice round count based on bore condition

Based on your picture, I don't see anything wrong with that barrel.

Hard to estimate round count without seeing the rest of the pistol. Especially the frame. In my experience the top of the tang, behind the hammer, will often give you an idea of around how many rounds have gone through the gun. The wear mark which forms there being the indicator.

Congrats on the 4516 no dash. My favorite variant of the 4516 series. It is the thinnest and lightest of the 4516s.

Mine has been accurate and reliable. What type of holsters did you get with it?

Enjoy that fine 45! Regards 18DAI

I got a 4516 no dash a year ago. Love the gun. If it had any dash, I would not have bought it. I just put a 4506 hammer on it. Now it's perfect. GARY

Two pics to see the wear - looks more carry than anything and the 4506 hammer I added - but again looks like very little if any wear.

Got two belt hosters by desantis a shoulder holster and abt 6 mags.... looking forward to being at the range this coming sunday with it. :)

I also found a 4516 (no dash) about a year ago, looks like I need to find a 4506 hammer too. That's a nice addition. So far mine has been trouble free, I did order new recoils springs for it however, just haven't put one in yet. Come to think of it, I think mine has dual springs in it now. I'll have to get it out and see for sure. Might be thinking of the 4040PD.

Fine looking 4516 there Nickjc!

EDIT: I got my 4516 out last night and it does have dual springs! Does that mean it went back to S&W for the conversion? It is a No Dash 4516. (sorry about the crappy cell phone pics)
