I would say that the ability to use the same holster for both (per BillK01's post) is a very big plus. I owned a XDm 5.25" 9mm for a while and I liked it a lot and shot it very well. However, for me the stock grip texture looks like it would give a good grip but I still found it slippery...

I read recently on another thread somewhere that, although not officially supported, the FastFire III fits well on the C.O.R.E. using the #5 mounting plate. I have yet to confirm that.

This is typically an indication that the recoil spring is weak. If your spring is factory, and only 250 rounds from new, it may suggest a defective spring.

I have owned 4 Burris FastFire IIIs. They are a fantastic sight for the money (my only complaint is the dot is a little dim in bright daylight conditions). Unfortunately, there is no fitment for them on the C.O.R.E.

I installed my Apex Forward Set Trigger & Sear Kit today, using the "4 lb." trigger spring (not the green "5½ lb." one) and I still ended up at 5½ lb. Is this consistent with what others have found?

Here is my Bladetech OWB Paddle holster for 5" C.O.R.E. guns. It fits perfectly.

My understanding is that S&W has recently switched from a 16inch twist to a 10 inch on the 5 inch barrels for better accuracy. Perhaps you have one of the older ones. Also I just read in another thread that the 5" guns are zeroed for 147 gr. bullets. I have had my 9L C.O.R.E. for only a few...

Does anyone know the exact type and size of tool needed to remove the striker block on a C.O.R.E. slide? I emailed Apex Tactical and was told it is a T5. However, all my T5 bits just spin freely in the hole, and my T6s are too large - won't enter the hole in the retaining screw.

I have a FastFire III on one of my 41s using John Allchin's new mount: New S&W Model 41 Scope Mount - Allchin Gun Parts It looks a little weird since the mount is designed to also accommodate a full-size C-More "Slide Ride" sight, but it works fine and keeps the FastFire low to the bore.
