    Trigger Rebound Spring Tool Necessary?

While not necessary, it does make the task much easier. I have the Brownells tool. The best rebound spring tool may be the one slenet made. I may make one myself.

    Police Trade-in 640s at Centerfire

I fired my 640-1 revolver today. It went bang every time. The Apex spring and firing pin kit worked well. I was able to keep all my shots in the black of a 25 yd. bull's eye. target. I shot 38 SP, 38 SP+P, and moderately loaded 357 Mag ammo with 160 gr. cast bullets. I have a pair of...

    Homemade Moon Clip Loader

I stopped by the St Vincent De Paul thrift store today and asked them if they had any old golf clubs. They did. I bought a left-handed #4 iron for $5. Once home I cut the shaft and ground the end for a first class moon clip unloading tool as suggested by Rule3.

    Police Trade-in 640s at Centerfire

My S&W 640-1 arrived. The condition looks just like Glashaus' revolver. It is clean inside and out. Overall I am pleased and feel that I got a good deal from Centerfire Systems. The only difference from Glashaus' is the stamped lettering and S&W logo appear to be faint and lighter than they...

    New walnut media

I treat crushed walnut shells with Iosso Brass Case Polish Liquid available from Midway. I get the crushed walnut shells from Harbor Freight. Harbor Freight with a 20% off coupon is cheaper than the pet shop. After cleaning 500-800 cases I re-treat the walnut shells with a dash of mineral...

I ordered one this morning. I'm looking forward to receiving and shooting it. I only wish it was a model 649 instead of a 640.

    Loading .308 for less recoil

Try Speer 125 gr. TNT bullets. They are cheap, shoot well, and make light recoiling loads for rapid fire. I have won many medals with them in my M1 and M1903A3 rifles at Camp Perry.

Who is going to Camp Perry

I will be traveling next week to Camp Perry for the National Trophy service rifle matches and the M1, Springfield, and vintage rifle matches. My goal is to make the President's Hundred this year. Is anybody here going?

    Homemade Moon Clip Loader

Hello every one. This is my first posting to the S&W forum. Two weeks ago I purchased a S&W model 25-2, 45 ACP revolver from Gunbroker. I needed a tool to load the moon clips. Instead of purchasing one for $50.00 I made one that works quite well for $4.00. I do not claim to have invented...
