Brand New Model 442-1 Locking Up...

Nah, don't shoot the gun. I would hate to hear that there was a catastrophic failure when you were testing it. [emoji24][emoji853]. When you send the gun in the repair shop will test it it out just like they did with mine. S&W will analyze the problem and any other issue. Good luck. Sent from...

Brand New Model 442-1 Locking Up...

I would contact S&W Company ASAP and explain what's going on with the gun. They will repair it under warranty. I just got my Model 638 back yesterday afternoon after being away at the repair shop for 3 weeks. I was having an accuracy issue and the barrel was realigned. I didn't get a to shoot it...

    Poor accuracy with Model 638

This afternoon I finally got my Model 638 back from S&W. Nice. It took 3 weeks total going and coming back. I scanned a couple forms that was included with gun regarding the repair work. Looks like the barrel was realigned and a couple test shots were take before and after the repair. I'm...

    Mod 66-2, 2 1/2” $700 cash rejected

My approach would be, "What price are you looking for?" when I would have first seen the gun. At that point I would have tried to analyze what was kind of wiggle room I would have in negotiations. I would have dug deep and just pay the $56 above what I came in with. Grip preference for 686 6 inch

Wood grips would be my first choice. Especially if they are designed well both esthetically and ergonomically. Sent from my coconut frond hut using Tapatalk

    Poor accuracy with Model 638

A comment on those that mentioned that it is the shooter and not the gun: When would a person would finally say enough is enough and look for another resolution to the inaccuracies? I mean I've put though the gun thousands of rounds, I've practiced several times a year with it, I've let other...

    Poor accuracy with Model 638

Thanks for all the interest and posts. I've put approximately 5k rounds though the gun since ownership. Majority of the ammo is American Eagle which I used with my S&W Model 686 Plus 4". I'm very accurate and consistent with my Model 686 Plus by the way. I've had several range buddies shoot...

    The 9th getting funky

There is so much crime committed here in Hawaii with criminal using firearms. A week or so ago a police officer in Hawaii County was killed by a convicted felon with a handgun. He was on the run for a few days until police caught up with him and shot him dead. A man in Oahu was robbed by gun...

    Poor accuracy with Model 638

Thanks for the reply. I really don't want to go with a laser grip. I want to stay old school and true with the wheel gun. I've watched a few YouTube videos especially hickok45 shooting the same model I have and he's on target more times than not...without a laser grip. I just read a thread...

    Poor accuracy with Model 638

I've owned my Model 638 for about 4 years now. I bought it brand new. Since the beginning of ownership I've tried to become proficient with this gun in regards to being accurate. I've shot it off a sand bag and practiced with it on and off all this time and I could never become accurate with it...

    Two Tone Model 38

If was cheap and runs well, might be worth having it refinished. I love shrouded hammer revolvers. Enjoy and be safe. Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk

    Which To Keep?

I regreted selling a few of my firearms years ago. I will not make that same mistake again. Never ever sell a gun unless it is absolutely necessary. BTW if you sold the Python revolvers I highly doubt you will be able to afford them again as prices are ridiculously high. Good luck and be safe...

What guns do you want to get in 2018?

Looking forward in buying a S&W Model 617 with a 6" barrel. Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk

    Favorite range revolver????

My favorite handgun to shoot of all that I own is the Model 686 Plus 4" barrel. I did all the trigger work myself. It's accurate and fun to shoot. I only shoot magnum rounds through it. It's the only way to go. Ha! Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk

    Model 41

Model 41 maintenance I had some FTE/FTF and jamming issues with my Model 41 and what I did was change out the extractor to a Volquartsen one, changed the springs to Wolff, and cleaned out the chamber. All is well now. Good luck.

    Model 41 availability

I bought my NIB S&W Model 41 about nine years ago from Bud's Gun Shop website. As soon as I saw it was in stock, I hit the buy button. Worth every penny. No issues whatsoever. Earlier this year I did change the springs and extractor but other than that it is a cool gun to shoot and own...

    642 Performance Center Spring Questions

I installed an Apex Spring Kit in my Model 638 and it made some difference from stock but not anywhere near what a Wolff spring kit did in my Model 686 Plus.

people like newer guns more than they let on

I don't mind buying brand new revolvers with the IL. I like the idea that I will be the first to own it and put my history on it. Owned my Model 686 Plus 4" for almost ten years now. No issues and shoots like a dream. I have also a Model 638 Airweight and again no issues and I love shooting...

    Trigger break in

I installed the Apex Duty/Carry Spring Kit in my Model 638 and it was quick and easy. Took about 3# off the DA trigger pull. I have no issues with light primer strikes and the gun is a pleasure to shoot. I followed the video provided on the website and it was painless.
