Compact reloader? I'll look into that lee loader. Any specific powder you would recommend? Only things I might reload as of this moment would be the 460, 45-70, and .50beo. I can of course search for manuals and powder measures and dies on my own i imagine.

Thank you for your insight on the long barrel models and sticking the idea in my head that I need a shorter barrel version at some point too. This is why I ask these questions here before buying. Unfortunately, we are playing the waiting game as of right now. I gotta wait to see if my lgs can...

Thought process I exercised that mindset when I purchased my only other revolver, a heritage rough rider .22wmr with a 16" barrel.

    .460

Winter I'm with you on that one Mike. Even if I picked up the gun tomorrow, no way I'm gonna be able to shoot actual .460 rounds until it starts to warm up. .45lc are acceptable at the indoor range that I frequent though, so I'll at least be able to shoot it.

Appreciate all the info guys. The 14" is definitely up for higher consideration than before. To be honest, it's unlikely that I would ever use it for defense in any case. It's much more likely that it just ends up being a cool range toy, but hunting with it is not out of the question. Weight...

    .460

Hey guys, I am looking to expand my collection and pick up a S&W 460 revolver. I was thinking about a .500, but I like that I can shoot .45lc and .454casull out if the .460. I am having a hard time deciding which one I want to get though. Largely I am between the 7.5" and the 10.5" comped...

Welcome fellow Ohioan. I'm in full agreement with post 2. You will definitely like this community. Lots of knowledge to be found here. No doubt one or multiple of the wheel gun guys will pop their head in and share some info for you. Happy shooting and happy new year.

Hi from San Diego got my 1st S&W today

Welcome from brook park, Ohio. I would say Ohio is definitely a place worth visiting. We got quite the firearms community here, plus roller coasters if that floats your boat. Congrats on the first of probably many Smith's and welcome to gunaholics anonymous.

    9mm suppressor host

Beretta m9a3/m9a4 is a fantastic suppressor host. Even without suppressor height sights, if you are used to the gun, it's still a tack driver.

    If S&W made a Metal 2.0 in .45?

I would pick up the first one I saw in store. Of the new releases over the last year, none have brought me the excitement that I would get from an m&p metal in .45, or .40 for that matter. Nothing against 9mm, but there are plenty of great 9mm handguns on the market. Much less so for the larger...

Is the hottest ammo the best ammo?

I'm not of the belief that the round needs to be the hottest of the caliber that you carry. I think most people have trouble finding the broad side of the barn on follow up shot with ammo like that. That said, I also think it still needs to be plenty potent. No need to stick a .45 super round in...

Update > lettered. 1994 Performance Center SD-40 "Stocking Dealer"

I dont know if I have ever been more jealous of anybody in my life. If I ever found one of these I would sell a kidney if I had to lol. Another forum member posted something about this as well as the 9mm and 356tsw version a while back and i screenshot the pictures he posted. I never really...

What are the things you value most in a carry gun?

Some good answers here. I would agree with most. But my list looks like this: 1 reliability 2 ergonomics 3 concealability Get something that works well, that you shoot well, but that you won't leave at home. If that means a micro 9 for you than by all means, carry a micro 9. For me a shield...

    New from S&W...2023 SPEC SERIES M&P® 9 METAL M2.0

This is what I'm talking about. If only they would make one of their new guns in their own cartridge. This especially would be fantastic in .40. I would not have to think twice about buying one then. Same goes for .45 and 10mm. The market for full size 9mm handguns is so oversaturated that...

    10mm continues to perform

Hell Yeah Always nice to see more people are having good experiences with the m&p 10mm now. You picked what I've found to be the best store bought range ammo. The sig stuff is at least closer to full power 10mm than any other range ammo one would get at the store. Short of going to boutique...

    New from S&W...2023 SPEC SERIES M&P® 9 METAL M2.0

Gun Nerd I would say I'm more like a nerdy shooter and firearms collector with weird taste. Many guns I buy just because I want a gun in a new caliber and something chambered in that caliber catches my eye, or I will buy something because it's a different type of action that I dont have. I...

    New from S&W...2023 SPEC SERIES M&P® 9 METAL M2.0

Market vs Practical Use I have not shot the m&p metal line at all yet, but I find not every gun has to have a purpose. Some guns are just for range fun and as long as the market supports it, it doesn't need any other purpose. This is one of those guns. Probably a hoot at the range, especially...

    caliber choices

Some of us just stumble upon the perfect carry gun. I was carrying a 365 and loved it, until I shot a shield45. After shooting the shield i bought a holster for it and haven't looked back. Now I have 2 shields(picked up a .40pc), but I still only carry the 45. For me it's the perfect carry gun...
