With 2023 coming to a close shortly, how did your accumulation/collection of firearms go? Buy or sell?

I had a bit of a slow year and had not bought anything until about September when I finally got my hands on a 2.5" 686 (-4). This came with its matching box. I also picked up a Glock 27 Gen 3 which I had also been searching for for a while. This G27 came with the tuber-ware box and two mags. (I added the Pearce Pinky extension). Both cost me $750 AUD which is about $510 USD at the moment.

I got into collecting S&W revolvers last year. My collection this year started with a model 36, a 586-1, a 10-6, and a 28-2.
It has ended with:
1 4 screw K22 Masterpiece (this gun made me fall in love with old S&Ws and started this spree)
1 4 screw K38 Masterpiece 6"
1 15-4
1 4th Change M&P 6 inch
1 6" 19-3 blue
1 4" 19-3 nickel
1 K22 outdoorsman
1 1905 prewar target
1 5 screw k38 Masterpiece
1 5 inch k38 Masterpiece (been meaning to make a post on this!)
another prewar target
another 5 screw k38 Masterpiece
1 14-3
another k22 outdoorsman
1 19 no dash 4 screw
1 pre 15 k38 combat masterpiece
and my crown jewel a 38/44 Outdoorsman with prewar magnas.

here's a picture of when i picked them up from my ffl. largest transfer the manager had ever done, LOL, that also includes a Colt revolver, a Walther PP, A P38, and a Ruger Ranch Rifle

A terrific haul jared. Can't complain. Still have too many projects. Bought some AR upper parts for builds, .22 and .45 pistols and a x39. Did find a nice Colt Officers Model .38 with a 7.5 inch barrel, didn't know they even existed, and a Woodsman parts gun to play with. This is my new side charger x39 upper.

My journey began last February when acquisition of a used Vudoo .22 rifle led to a serious fascination with informal benchrest shooting, I placed an order with Desert Precision for one of Kenny's masterpieces. That rifle finally arrived in October and it was worth the wait.

The other over-the-top acquisition was one of the new Alien Creators. I had already owned the first Alien since they first came out and although obscenely expensive, it is an astounding handgun.

The result of a trade with one of the fine members here resulted in the acquisition of a VERY nice HK 93, which in turn led to a PTR 91 because I had already spent too much this year to go for a real HK 91.

The last indescretion was an FAL based on an Austrian Stg58 kit in an older Coonan forged receiver.

I need to go into a 12 step program for firearm acquistion, obviously.

was a good year ,my addiction relapse was pretty bad this year
pre 27 6 1)2 in
66 no dash 2 1(2 in
10 -5. 4 inch GB

Only one last year and that was a week ago. A HK 45C. Not sure what purpose it will serve for me but it is a fun shooter. May carry it at some point.

Getting old I guess. Forgot I bought a clean used Springfield Armory Saint Edge in 5.56.

Only added two in 2023 (bought a new car, so those payments have largely placed the "gun fund" on hiatus for now)

A Ruger LCP Max (.380) and a Springfield Armory SA-35 (9mm)

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I have only purchased ONE firearm in 2023, and surprisingly it wasn't a S&W revolver! I bought a Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol 12ga "tactical" semi-auto shotgun. My last revolver purchase was in 2022- a first year (and birth year) 1954 Highway Patrolman. I also bought an M&P 10mm 2.0 (4.6" bbl.) last year. I turned 69 this year, and am realizing that as much as I love shooting, collecting, and owning firearms, maybe my wife is right. Maybe I do have enough guns! I know, I know...am I feeling OK? I'm realizing that I cannot find the time to shoot all of the guns that I have, so do I really need more? The gun safe(s) are full, and my "gun fund" is being used to supplement more fun travel experiences. Over the next few years, like other Forum members, I may find myself downsizing my modest collection. There are still S&W revolvers on my Wish List, but I'm having trouble justifying to myself that I really need to find and buy them.
