I have a standard M&P 9 which will dry fire without a magazine inserted. Does that mean mine does not have the magazine saftey? If so, would I need this kit? PERFORMANCE CENTER(R) PORTED SLIDE KITS M&P(R)9L | Smith & Wesson

So the Performance Center M&P 9 Pro Series C.O.R.E. 5" Ported Slide Kit will fit on a standard FS M&P 9 frame?

I applied some fine grit skateboard griptape to my FS M&P 9mm 1.0 because the texture is just way too slippery for me. End result, it now feels fantastic. With the M2.0 release, I was hoping the new texture would eliminate the need for griptape. It did, however IMO it is a little too aggressive...

What are the advantages/disadvantages of the 4.25" and 5" barrel options? The longer sight radius of the 5" is negated if using a RDS, right?

OK, well I started my holster box collection. lol I decided to go with a StealthGear Onix.

Yeah I'm thinking ....standard Shield w/Apex kit + XS Big Dots instead of the PC Shield.

Have you shot a standard Shield 9mm? Is there a very noticeable difference recoil/muzzle flip ?

Yeah, looks like the top of the holster or the "beaver tail" of the grip is what's causing the chub rub. Try a different IWB holster that covers the entire grip,...or it's time for OWB.lol

I understand holster choice is an individual one. My main question is,....are there advantages of one "type," not a specific holster, over the other? Knowing what those are would help me narrow down my search.

There are tons of holster companies (see my thread for a list) to chose from. I'm trying to narrow my search by type first. Can you guys comment on the advantages/disadvantages of 1)Leather 2)Kydex 3)Hybrid holsters for IWB use?
