New BodyGuard 380 mp hammer seems off center

David - I hear your frustrations. Check out a thread on this forum, My Bodyguard Experience. There is a post #15 by Buckshot Shorty talking about his experience of his Bodyguard and light primer strikes, $25 fix. Might want to check that out! You could always reach out to him to see what he...

New BodyGuard 380 mp hammer seems off center

David - Anything is possible and should be considered. Why would S&W give you their blessing to you machining a part of a new gun they manufacture? Their question to you will be, "if you are still having problems with the new replacement pistol, why aren't you returning the gun to us?" I know...

The Saga: Bodyguard 380 FT Fire Part VI

I couldn't agree more. I bought my LCP the same month as the Bodyguard, and on our first trip to the range with both, the LCP was flawless, no hiccups! That to me is a very comforting feeling to get with a new gun right out of the box with no issues! :D

The Saga: Bodyguard 380 FT Fire Part VI

Kbm - I own both, and in all fairness to David, I think the Bodyguard has many features that I wish the LCP had. My Bodyguard was not failure free out of the box. It had many failure to feeds and ejection problems. We took it back to our LGS we bought it from and he looked at it, shot the ammo...

The Saga: Bodyguard 380 FT Fire Part VI

David - Everybody wants what you want, you to be happy with a Bodyguard you can depend on, without issues! You seem like you won't be happy with anything else, so why don't you go after Smith and Wesson and tell them what you expect! You paid good money for your Bodyguard, so why don't you cast...

The Saga: Bodyguard 380 FT Fire Part VI

David - Many have offered suggestions to you, but you continue to use Win and RemWB (whatever that is, I think you mean UMC). I can't speak for Win ammo, but the UMC I had nothing but problems with it, never again. Replacement pistol shot 30-50 rounds flawlessly? Capt Ron has mentioned magazines...

    I apolgize!

This is all that needed to be said. Save the rest for the politicians of Illinois. Things might be bad in Illinois, but I am sure there are other states out there that are just as bad if not worse. I too am sorry for your loss and hope you can return to the forum with positive input we all need...

Bodyguard 380 FT Fire Problems, Part V

It's a shame you have to go thru all of this, but I guess you have to do what you have to do! Good luck and I hope all this makes things better for you and your BG! I am anxious for your results, so let us know! - Rick

    Bodyguard or LCP

Jim - I currently own both the LCP and the BG. If I had to chose between the two, the LCP would win without a doubt! And that would be based on the reliability these pistols offer. LCP has never had one hiccup, the BG has had several. We think we have attributed those failures to a certain brand...

Bodyguard 380 FT Fire Problems, Part V

Jstan - I hear that! David and many of the members on here have been talking with each other about his problem with the BG's. He has been very adamant in past posts about not putting any more money or effort towards fixing something that S&W should be fixing and I was just reaffirming those...

Bodyguard 380 FT Fire Problems, Part V

Jstan - Upgrading a pistol when you haven't had problems is one thing, upgrading it to fix something that S&W is responsible for fixing is another! It's bad enough the money David has sunk into ammo and range time trying to get one pistol to operate to his satisfaction, let alone the frustration...

Bodyguard 380 FT Fire Problems, Part V

David - Call Smith Monday morning and get their opinion. You are starting out with a replacement and if the pistol is still not to your satisfaction, begin the process all over again with them. You or I don't make them, they do, and it's their problem of getting it right or they need to give you...

Bodyguard 380 FT Fire Problems, Part V

David - A while back I was wondering if you had ever got your BG back. Couple things to your new post 1) you cleaned it before using the replacement, right? 2) you have had a BG long enough to remember about the mag release needing to be pressed when inserting a mag on a new BG. That will work...

    Q: M&P .380 Owners

Old Cop - I don't give my BG anymore attention than I do with the other handguns I have. Since going to a safe, I do tend to take them out more often due to checking on the status of the rechargeable EVA-DRY dehumidifier I have in the safe. I'll usually give them a visual every other month and...

    New Bodyguard broken

See, Ron, I told you! How's your neck? LOL! :D

my new m&p bodygaurd 380 ftf on last round only

I agree with the 380 pistols not liking cheaper ammo, but I have had problems with the BG feeding Remington UMC ammo. What I have left will be given to my LCP to digest!

    AD at range

Keith - A question I have to ask, is this a new Shield that you had Gander Mountain do the retro work? Was the Shield working properly before the work was done? I am a little skeptical of some of these mods out there, but that is just me, and I am a firm believer that "if it ain't broke, don't...

    My Bodyguard Experience

Both kick like a mule, but there is definitely a difference in the two! I own both, I like the feel of the BG in my hand and the features it offers, but I definitely like the LCP for the smaller size for carry and the reliability I have experienced with it (no failures, knock on wood)!

9 shield wife cant rack it (380 bodyguard??)

Saw the video, yes, many failures! Steel cased ammo? He said, "Smith and Wesson, your man said he shot 5 magazines, probably extremely high dollar ammo, I'm kind of cheap and I'm not doing that..............." Makes you wonder how cheap! It would have been nice had he had another brand to run...
