    BodyGuard 380

So nice to read a Positive post about the Bodyguard. I know, I for one, posted negative comments about the Bodyguard after a very disappointing first range visit. I had an open mind, reading about ammo selections, break-in periods etc. I am very happy I was patient (not usually that way), giving...

    New Bodyguard & Hickock 45

KYM&PGUY - Last year, I too purchased a new Bodyguard 380 for my wife. At the same time, I purchased a new Ruger LCP for myself. My first purchase of ammo was the Remington UMC FMJ. The Bodyguard did not fair too well with the Remington ammo. Had 3 magazines, middle of the mag, which had FTFeed...

    M&P Bodyguard FTF Last Round

Big Max - Ever try ordering ammo online? I've had good luck with both Gander Mountain and Cabelas and were both reasonably priced. I've had good results going to the PMC Bronze. I've also read where others have had good luck with Federal American Eagle rounds. These little pocket pistols can be...

    M&P Bodyguard FTF Last Round

Big Max - I hear your frustrations! Couple questions, could this be ammo related? I know you are telling us it's the last round in 3 different magazines. The last rounds are the first rounds you load into these magazines. Are you loading the rounds by hand or a Lula handloader? Sorry, just my...

    New Bodyguard & Hickock 45

Eagle 1944 - I agree with staying away from the Remington UMC ammo. My BG had several FTfeeds with the UMC brand. We have since moved on to PMC Bronze ammo and have had very good results with it!

    M&P LUBRICATION HELP

I've always had good luck with keeping the gun cleaning simple by just using Hoppes or Rem oil. They've been on the market for years. However, I did some looking at You Tube videos on gun cleaning tips and several Glock owner video's are now supporting the use of Ballistol CLP. I bought a can of...

    BG lemon

Imacrichter - Did you ever get your Bodyguard back from Smith? I'm anxious to find out what they did and hopefully they will have solved all the issues you have been having! Let us know once you have received and the findings of their fixes! Thanks - Rick

uplula Mag loader for shield and full size ?

I don't know about scratching the follower, but I usually hand load the first round; seems to make the second and the rest load easier. I am using the Baby Lula which is a little smaller. Could be just me too?

    Bodyguard 380 issue

Fastercat - If you have tried all we have offered and still have a problem, you might want to take it to the place of purchase. Maybe someone there might be able to walk you thru the reassembly and show you where you went wrong! Good luck and happy shooting! - Rick

Bodyguard 380: does your slide hold-open release when inserting mag?

Db4570 - I own both the LCP and the Bodyguard 380 (non-laser). I have not had one issue with the LCP but have had some with the BG on the first trip to the range. 1) When we purchased the BG, the LGS said not to slam the magazine in. While still in the new stage, push the magazine release...

    Bodyguard 380 issue

I think the above might work for the OP, but the more I think about the dead airspace forward of the lug, that is the area where the recoil spring would be? Unless there is enough room above that for someone to inadvertently install the takedown pin in the wrong location. I just hope something...

    Bodyguard 380 issue

Turbo - I re-read your post above and could the OP be just installing the takedown lever into detent hole forward of the barrel lug if he didn't push the barrel all the way forward? Just a few minutes ago, I had the muzzle end of my BG pointed slightly upward and the barrel had definitely...

    Bodyguard 380 issue

I replied to this thread earlier, somehow thinking the takedown lever if in the wrong position could interfere with the slide going forward! Scratch that thought, I just pulled my BG out of the safe and broke it down following the owners manual instructions and re-assembled again using the...

    S&W Bodyguard 380 - Range Report with a story

So glad to hear you had a great trip to the range! When I purchased my Bodyguard 380, the LGS told me, "no need to clean it before going to the range!" After reading many forum posts about the definite need to clean before a trip to the range, I did take the time to clean and was surprised at...

Thoughts on the M&P BG 380

D-Hop - I purchased both the LCP and the Bodyguard at the same time. The BG is for my wife because it has the safety feature. We had some issues first time out, FTFeed, but have since then narrowed it down to ammo related. We were firing Remington UMC FMJ. We have since then moved on to PMC...

New BG FTF. Only been shooting a few months and need a little help here.

On another S&W forum, a member over there had lots of problems with the DRT loads. I've read good reviews of the WWB. I have had problems with my Wife's BG, FTFeed with the Remington UMC FMJ rounds. At the moment, we are having better luck with the PMC Bronze rounds. The RO is correct, I guess...

    .380 BG - short mag?

GTS - I purchased a new Bodyguard 380 for my wife and the first time out, we had some FTFeed issues. When we took the pistol back to the LGS, he ruled out the pistol and was sure it was ammo as he couldn't get it to repeat the failure. In speaking with us, he showed us another technique of...
