    Circa 1960 M41 box?

I knew it was real, more curious if I was close on the date and maybe how long this version of the box was used.

Barrels, what have I got here?

Good to know since bubba filed the S/N off the bottom of the barrel. I took a look at the M30/31 barrel and there is no S/N stamped under the barrel. I'm guessing it is a takeoff as the locking bolt is installed, which I presume would not be the case if it were NOS?

Barrels, what have I got here?

Bought a box lot a couple of months ago with some Colt Pocket Auto parts, Colt New Service parts and some other misc stuff like some Astra barrels and some S&W revolver parts to include three barrels. I'm thinking what I have here is a cut down N frame .45 ACP barrel from a Model of 1950 that...

    Remembering the 1969 Roadrunner

I went to college with a guy from downstate that had a '69 Roadrunner that had been built from several wrecks. It had an 413 in it that came out of an earlier 60's Chrysler product. Didn't take much to break the tires loose in all four gears. Another buddy from the same school has the '70...

    A Return to Pocket Watches

I've been wearing and using a pocket watch since I was in HS. An Illinois that dates to the nineteen teens. I've worn out one case and have put more money into it to keep it is running than it is worth, but no plans to retire it any time soon. I do not own a wristwatch.

Leaving a Coin on a Grave

It has been a tradition since at least the Korean War to put a nickel on a fighter pilots grave. "Throw a nickel on the grass, save a fighter pilots ***" as the song goes.

    Floor Jack Repair

Unless your jack is made somewhere other than China, it probably isn't worth fixing. I rebuilt a Hein Werner WS for my dad recently. Besides the rebuild kit, I had to replace part of the pump and several damaged plugs that it sustained over the last 50 years since dad bought it new. Most of...

    BDA in 38 Super

They also came in 9MM and .45 ACP as well. Magazines are out there, but they are not inexpensive, at least in 9MM and .38 Super. I not seen one in .30 Luger, but have read a few were imported. Don't lose that lanyard loop, pretty nearly made of unobtainium.

I finally bot my hands on....

The oak blocks from cut up pallets also make good blocks for a barrel vise. I think I used some pallet wood to make wedges when I put new handles on my wheelbarrow as well.
