A 64 is one of the very few 3" post-war, pre-locks I am missing... Still searching... Those of you talking the Ruger SP101 - excellent, excellent revolver! I conceal carry a DAO SP101 .357 regularly as it's lost easily on my frame.

Came with the Pachs from the factory. I have the same gun! It will punish you with wood grips if your plan to regularly shoot it! Not a carry piece for me so I don't have any holster recommendations. Fun gun!

I'd say the 36 with the flat latch is on the more "stiff" end of feel if I compare it across my collection of Smiths. While stiff, the cylinder releases smoothly. Any chance your extractor is loose or the rod bend?
