This is my first non sales-related post on the S&W forum. I acquired my first Smith revolver about 6 months ago, a model 10-5 2". I traded a rifle I paid $250 for, so I figured I got a good deal (which is mostly why I traded). I had a few Rugers, loved them, but didn't want to pay the extra money for a new one. Anyway I happened onto a good deal so I took it. Came with a nice leather holster. It's in great shape, lock-up is good and minimal wear:
I've only shot it once but I loved it. Mostly though, I like to look at it, and hold it. It's just so...classy.
Then a few weeks ago I traded my XD40sc for a 686+ also in great shape. I can't wait to see how I like it compared to my Gp100, hopefully I'll get to shoot it this week. Again, the thing just looks and feels great. Plus it holds 7 shots! Sorry no pic yet.
So the other day I'm browsing th elocal pawn shop to kill time (just moved to new city) and they had a model 36 no dash 3" in pretty good condition. Some minor wear on the cylinder and on top, but lock-up is great. They were asking $369 I believe. They also had a Savage 110 in 270 Win with a Nikon scope they wanted $269 for. I new that was a good deal and thought ringing up two guns would get me a better deal...it did. I decided I 'd pay $595 out the door...they offered $605 out the door and included a hard case and nice leather sling for the rifle, and a nice Bianchi leather holster with the Smith. I took the deal. I got home all excited but my wife was a bit upset that I spent $600...she had a valid point. So I looked over my collections for what to sell and the new Savage got the nod. Posted it online withut the case and sling and it sold in an hour for $365. Just sold the holster here for $25...which means I got the Smith for $220. From what I can tell that's a real good deal. Here she is, the pics aren't great. In the second pic the butt looks to be worn, but it isn't. I'll get pics in the daylight soon.
I gotta say, this Smith revolver deal is addicting. I haven't even shot two of these things and I'm already scheming on how to get another. They are beautiful. I love them!
