    Stock Manufacturer Identification

Does anyone recognize these markings? I see that it says magna stock, and lists some different N-Frames that it fits. Trying to figure out the manufacturer. Thanks! Anthony

    Dillon presses

Yep that’s the ticket, I have a simpler version from Armanov that is click adjustable for the small powder bar.

    Dillon presses

I find the settings to be repeatable. I just throw a few charges to verify and get to it.

    Dillon presses

I’ve got two 550’s, one for small primers, the other for large. I’m very happy with my the setup. I also have quick change connectors for the powder measure, as well as micrometer adjustments for the charge bars. I just have two powder measures, one with a large charge bar, the other with a...

    S&W Commercial 1917 transition pistol

I just paid $1200 for a commercial model SN: 180153. It shipped in February 1929. I figured it was a fair price considering what Army guns are going for, and the relative availability of commercial guns.

Pre Model 4" 29. Somebody got a heck ova deal!

5 Screws are older and more desirable, but I believe that 4 screw pre-29’s are slightly less common.

Pre Model 4" 29. Somebody got a heck ova deal!

If you use Guns International to check Cabela’s listings their inventory is updated after the Cabela’s website. It’s not uncommon for a gun that was sold the day before to get posted afterwards on GI. Missed out on a cheap 29-1 that way. Anthony

    I think I just bought a model 29-1

Barrel would have a mismatched serial number, so it would probably stand out.

Pre Model 4" 29. Somebody got a heck ova deal!

It was on the Cabela’s website for a few days. I thought about picking it up and doing a stock swap. I’ve got a 6.5” .357 with cokes on it, and those non-relieved targets would be a little more “correct” for the year. Maybe if it was a 6.5” with the original rear sight I would have picked it up...

    Bigmtnman Stocks & a .357

I just received my first set of elk stocks from bigmtnman and I’m very impressed. I had planned on using them on a 4” 624, but I think they have found a home on this 5” .357 Magnum.

5-screw/4-screw Gunsmith near North Austin, TX

The fundamental operating mechanisms of a 3/4/5 screw gun are the same. If I were a highly recommended gunsmith, and someone asked me if I could work on a 4 or 5 screw gun, I would probably assume that the person asking the question didn't know much about guns. It would be like asking a...

    Cabelas 29-1

I’m sure someone else saw this 29-1 listed on the Cabela’s website for $1500 a few weeks ago. It was freshly listed on Guns International when I called, but had been sold the day before. The clerk mentioned that the guns sometimes take a few extra days to show up on GI compared to their own...

    Like Finding Buried Treasure

And that’s what makes the hunt so fun, it’s like playing the lottery when you click on that link. Will that blurry thumbnail marked “S&W .38 Spl” be a clapped out model 10-8, or will it be that 5” .38/44 Outdoorsman that someone squirreled away in a greasy sock 40 years ago and forgot about?
