The .40 Shield is also my EDC for a year now and I am very happy with it. It is the perfect size for CCW in Florida as I rarely need to wear a jacket. I carry IWB with a Crossbreed MiniTuck.

I also give a nod to the PM9 as it is was my primary carry until I got my 40 Shield and I still carry it sometimes. If the PM9 is too pricey for you then the CW9 is also a good alternative.

I also paid MSRP $449 for mine at a LGS.

Put 200 rounds through it at the range today (Federal FMJ, HST and Gold Dot short barrel) and had shot 100 more before I returned to S&W. On first mag had slide lock open once, but worked flawlessly after that:). Looks like I have a new daily carry gun!

I already tried there and could not find it, they have parts lists for all the C models except the 357C. Maybe I ways not holding my mouth right?

Does anybody know the S&W part number for a factory .357C barrel?

I agree with CrossRifles2008! I agree with CrossRifles2008! I will not carry a gun that I have not shot at least 250+ rounds through to break it in as well as to get comfortable with it. That is why I am still carrying my Kahr PM9 until I am sure my .40 Shield is good to go.

2 free mags! Wish I had FORGOT to include my mags:) I received my .40 Shield back yesterday with two new mags (with the bump on the catch slot) and they kept the old ones. That is all they said they did to fix it. I will be shooting it tomorrow to see if it did.

I shot both the 9 & 40 at the LGS last week as the had the S&W factory demo guys there. Both shot well and there was little difference in the recoil to me. But I am partial to the 40 as I have a 40C and a 40 Pro, so I bought the 40 shield to replace my current daily carry Kahr PM9.
