    Optic and optic cut question

I'd strongly recommend buying the non optics ready version, verifying there's no QC issues with the gun, and then getting it milled by a reputable company for the specific foot print that you want. With the 507k, I'd encourage you to consider the versions that have the ACSS reticle because it...

M&P Shield Plus - Known Issues

Your sarcasm is not lost on me. I'm in agreement with you in believing that they don't care... which is the entire problem.

M&P Shield Plus - Known Issues

I am sticking to the facts and I'm not talking about rumors. When I see videos and pictures from different people who are reporting the same issue, it's hard to say that it's simply a rumor. I've personally had more than one issue and my Shield Plus is going through service for a fourth time in...

M&P Shield Plus - Known Issues

Some of you are aware of the problems that I've been having with my Shield Plus Performance Center which is currently back in for warranty service again. It's been quite the learning experience and during this process, I've joined various S&W fan groups on Facebook, I've spoken with many people...

Buying the gun you NEED rather than the one you WANT!

If you're looking at the Shield EZ the M&P Equalizer should also be considered.

    Possible 2.0 Metallic buyer

The metal lower is just marketing and cosmetics The polymer M&P pistols have steel embedded in the polymer frame... everything that needs to be steel is steel and the polymer frame design is extremely robust. On all of the tactical Tupperware throughout the market, one of the biggest...

    Question for the Hive -

I've become very negative on S&W after the long list of problems I've had with my Shield Plus Performance Center. I've had huge problems with their customer service and also their repair department. Currently the Shield Plus is on its way back to S&W for a 4th time. I no longer can recommend S&W...

Looking to ID this S&W revolver

Great info. The gun originated in CA, but it's not DAO

Looking to ID this S&W revolver

Interesting. It's older than we thought. His wife is likely to create an issue if he brings it out again today. I'll look at it again on Thanksgiving. Looking at pictures of other examples of the K-38 Combat Masterpiece, it definitely looks like one.

Looking to ID this S&W revolver

I dont know wheel guns very well but I'm interested in knowing which model number this is and what year it was produced. The serial number starts with 3K543xx I believe it's from the early 80's, that it came from California to Wisconsin through LEO circles, and it currently remains with the...

New Shield Plus PC Broke after 5 shots - trigger clicks, striker not fired

Let's not rip the OP's face off too much here. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. He just wants his situation resolved. The reality is that S&W is having many warranty issues, they're developing a pattern of not fixing things the first time, and also they're not making it easy on...

New Shield Plus PC Broke after 5 shots - trigger clicks, striker not fired

So then.... if S&W's warranty department can install a Shield 2.0 slide on a Shield Plus frame then why does S&W's customer service department tell people that we can't do that same slide swap on our own?

    Shield Plus Potential Issue?

It's incomprehensible that it's gotten this far. At this point, the word incompetence is the only word that seems appropriate, and at Smith & Wesson there's multiple layers of incompetence stacked on top of each other. With the first repair, which should have been simple and easy, I sent full...

    Shield Plus Potential Issue?

I got the Shield Plus back again yesterday evening. It's been through service three times now and after they did the wrong repair the last time, and put visible damage on it the first time, I was told the head of the service department got involved this time and personally examined it himself...

New Shield Plus PC Broke after 5 shots - trigger clicks, striker not fired

I'm a shareholder of S&W now and I'm wondering how much S&W has to destroy the reputation of their brand before other shareholders believe that executive leadership is breaching their fiduciary obligations to shareholders.

Increasing draw speed and improving reaction times

Excellent advice... perhaps the best advice. I have managed to successfully do that twice, and thankfully as a result, both times I've drawn, I didn't have to shoot. Being unassailable starts with good situational awareness. We all have blind spots in our day-to-day and I want to be quick...

Copy that. Good catch, I fixed it.

New Shield Plus PC Broke after 5 shots - trigger clicks, striker not fired

Your original theory about a trigger bar problem was probably correct. They've got a few repair techs who apparently are incompetent. My problem was very similar. I also had to send mine in twice. Upon getting their shipping notification by email the second time, I called them to see what they...

    Shield Plus Potential Issue?

I just got off the phone with S&W. They said that the new trigger bar they had previously replaced was bent, so they replaced it again. They were not able to provide details about what was done to repair the machine marks they left on my frame from the first repair attempt. As if today...

Increasing draw speed and improving reaction times

This is good advice. I've been breaking it down in a similar way and drilling that component of the draw over and over. That method has helped me tremendously with various components of the draw.
