I am a longtime fan of metal firearms. However, no longer opposed to "Tupperware "! I've been a convert for better than 5 or ) years now. But my preference is for metal firearms. I like the feel and the heft. That being said, I'm now at a point where I will probably sell the couple of metal firearms that I have and buy the one that I need. With arthritic hands and poor hand strength, I will most likely be purchasing a S&W Shield EZ9. Easy to rack and to load. My son will inherit my Hi Power pistol.

Good luck with your hunt! I think the EZ is a great pistol. Nothing wrong with Tupperware other than attitudes!

It $ucks being the same age as 'Old People', doesn't it? :( :)

While I stopped carrying metal handguns when the G19 came out, in the early 2000s, I moved to Front Pocket carrying the PF-9.
While the PF-9 carried great, it's small size/weight gave it a Mule's Kick to shoot. My old wrists yelled at me to move on.
Luckily, the Shield came out in 2012 and shooting it, compared to the PF-9 was like Night & Day.

I Feel for ya, Brother. :)

+1 on the Equalizer. It has the EZ Rack slide with deep slide serrations and comes with a first class mag loader to make loading magazines easier for older arthritic hands. The slide is also cut to directly accept a Holosun 407K, 507K or EPS Carry optic without any adapter plates.

As an arthritic geezer the guns I "NEED" I already have (442, G42) I'm more effected by carry weight than recoil. My range guns are big and heavy. What I want is a 340 PD and a CZ MTR. Oh, a Smith FPC would be fun too.

Some day when when I'm gone my bleeding heart liberal niece will find and say, "OMG, Uncle Jim had a arsenal here" even with detailed instructions on how to sell I bet she calls the local PD and says "take them away" How sad, now I'm depressed.

It's funny how the whole "Tupperware" thing started as a reference to the old plastic cases that Glocks used to come packaged in, yet folks continue to use the reference long past the point of relevance, seemingly under the misapprehension that it was in reference to polymer frames for some reason.

'Tupperware' referring to the gun makes a lot more sense than referring to the box which most throw in the closet and never see again.

I started with a 6904. After going down the Glock path I saw the light and got a M&P 40 full and compact. Then I moved back to metal with a 1911PD. Then to the 9mm FDE. Now I am back to the M&P Metal. I am an equal opportunity gun carrier.

Want/need...

Back in the 80s I preferred the classic look of blued Smith revolvers and still do.

However I was raising kids and trying to keep a small family farm in business, so disposable income wasn't abundant. When something I felt I "needed" appeared used at the LGS it always seemed to be stainless. Over several years I managed to pick up a 63, a 67 and a 686. In each case I told myself that they would do until I was able to get the blued models I really "wanted".

Strangely after 3 or 4 decades they are all still here and going to the range more often than their shiny blued brethren!
