    $1125 for a .38 Safety Hammerless?

The Wards Collectibles auction closed last night with a very nice (95% they say) .38 Safety Hammerless (Item #4548). Hard rubber grips, 4” barrel, no box, and no letter indicating famous provenance. Serial number in the 250,000 range. Selling price was $952 + 18% buyer’s premium. Seems like...

Is this an S&W Rear Sight?

Shown next to a Model 67 for comparison - is this an early sight from S&W (perhaps an early Ladysmith, 22/32 HFT, or something else)? Thanks in advance for any help.

K Frame Catalin Grips? Any idea who made these?

These grips are solid, not hollow like Fitz or Franzite. They look like something from the 1940’s or 50’s, perhaps earlier. Discoloration on the back seems to be from dirt and gun oil, not “natural.” The amber base color is similar to common Bakelite/Catalin. Any idea who might have...

    Identify bullet manufacturer? Era?

Have an unmarked box of these. They measure 150 grains and the gas check is .308. I cannot find anything in my references that resembles them. Any identification help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Model 67 Stainless Rear Sight Question

Did the original stainless rear sight on Model 67's (early 1970's) have an "S" stamped on the underside? Did blued rear revolver sights have markings? Thanks in advance for any help.

New Model No. 3 ? Need some help...

Purchased this well worn ("abused" is probably more accurate) revolver - just cannot resist low serial numbers (3831 in this case) and somewhat unique (ivory) grips. The barrel is the common 6.5", and it has the 2-line patent markings with the last being the 1871 "Reissue" date. Serial numbers...

    Help Identify - Colt Grip, S&W Look-alike?

Colt medallions, Colt screw, S&W magna grip profile, and holes that look like Colt orientation. Tried them on an old Colt Army Special and they did not fit that I/E Frame. Inside looks like they have been mounted on something in the past. (They have been stripped - were coated in a thick (and...

K-38 Combat Masterpiece purchased at estate sale of retired USAF Lt. Colonel. Marked "U.S." on the left side under the cylinder. Serial Number K235316. circa 1955. Possibly an "Army purchase" as mentioned in the SCSW 3rd Edition? Thanks for any help.

1905 -Shoulder stock? Or Bubba's work?

This 1905 has an odd cut in the backstrap. The machining was either poorly done, or it has been gouged over time (however, if gouged, I would expect the stocks to show some damage along the edges). Any idea what this might have been designed for? Shoulder stock of some type? Thank you in advance.

    Knurled SAT - Nickel?

This is a bit of a mystery to me....... 2 knurled SAT's are shown in the pictures. The top one appears to be a fairly common late 1950's one with the long blade. The bottom one is almost exactly 3.5" with what appears to be a nickel handle (although perhaps it is a stainless fake). The tip is...

Is this a Registered Magnum Barrel?

This is a 4" blued barrel, with a finely checkered rib. It has a lazy ampersand, Baughman style front sight, and the number 58881 stamped inside the extractor shroud (which falls within the range of Registered Magnum serial numbers in the SCSW). Is this from an RM? If so, is there any way to...

Need Expert Help on an S&W Holster

Looking for some help, since I know next to nothing about holsters. Here's one I picked up recently...it has S & W in big letters stamped inside the belt flap. It doesn' seem to fit my Model 37 and a 4" K frame just about falls out. Any ideas about what gun this is for? And, perhaps the time...

Any idea who manufactured these combat grips?

I think the box for these is correct. The San Francisco Gun Exchange went out of business in 1999. The grips are stamped "K," with the number 47 written on the inside of both panels in yellow marker/paint. Any thoughts on who might have manufactured these grips?

Questions about the Bavaria Municipal Police Victory Model?

I just acquired a Victory model marked "Bavaria Municipal Police." All numbers match (frame, stocks, yoke, cylinder). SCSW indicates that the Victory was produced from 1942-45. How did the Germans (in Bavaria) acquire it? After WWII? During the Occupation? Any information about the history of...
