M&P pre model 10 4 inch shipping date

Hi everyone. I have a chance to buy a M&P pre model 10 4 inch on a local online auction. I have other M&Ps so I am only interested if the revolver was shipped sometime in 1950. I was born that year. The seller has posted pictures and the revolver looks correct for that era. I can't confirm the...

    686-6+ 7shot

Just purchased a 686-6 7 shot the other day. Revolver is in excellent shape. The serial number is CMX 46XX. This is the first revolver I have purchased with the internal lock. Does anybody here know the approximate production year? My S&W book does not go up that far. I know the year is past...

    Light strikes sometimes

I have a 38 M&P model of 1905 4th change. Sometimes when I am firing rounds two of the rounds get light strikes. Of course these do not fire. This is not all the time. I took the grips off and strain screw is tight. Any idea what would cause this? Lockup is pretty good for this old lady. Thanks...

    New M&P

Just completed a transaction on a new to me 1905 4th change 38 special with a 4 in barrel. No finish left but has a tight lockup and should make a great shooter. Serial #414XXX. Puts this revolver in the 1930's range. This will be my oldest S&W revolver. Here she is.

    S&W model 10 or M&P 38 special CA

I am looking for either a model 10 or M&P 38 special. Prefer a 4 inch. I like pinned and recess models but would consider buying one later than 1980. I want to buy a shooter not a safe queen. I will pay a fair price. I live in California. That means this is a private party transfer. In...

    Another 19-2 4 inch score

I ran into a 19-2 4 inch today at Turner Outdoorsman. No box, original grips and I could not find any blueing loss. The revolver is dirty but has been used very little. The price $450 + fees which makes it 526.00 out the door. So I quickly handed the salesman my American Express and paid for the...

    My 686-2 4 inch

Hi Everyone, Just picked up my "new to me" 686-2 4 inch. I foolishly traded my 686-3 4 inch for a S&W 5903. I like the 5903 but my roots are revolvers. I paid $471.00 out the door. In California, 686 bring at least $550 to $650. Here are some pictures I just took. I was having light problems...

    Range report on my 40VE

Hi everyone, Thursday I went to my favorite range and put a 100 rounds through my 40VE. I used Federals 185 gr FMJ from Walmart. Overall, I was happy with my session. All though it took me a few magazines to get comfortable I soon was hitting the center of the target. My groups overall I feel...

Hi everyone, I was in my local gun store and in his display case is a unfired 686 SSR complete with the performace grips and uncle Mikes grips, box & manual. He wants $699 plus fees which would bring the total $790. Trigger is exceptional and looks like a tack driver. Is the price fair? The...

    Gun shop specials

Hi, Was in one of my favorite gun shops yesterday and in the display case was a model 36 and a model 19-4 6 inch barrel. Price on the model 36 was $138 out the door and the model 19-4 was $269 out the door. Now both revolvers had a fair amount of surface rust on the frames. The model 19 did not...
