I have mostly collected "antique" Smiths but I have also admired the New Century model
This one has some wear and nicks but I think it is 100% original :)
I am wondering if S&W and Colt used the same bluing process.
Also, when did S&W discontinue using nitre blue finish on screws and other small parts
What do you know?
There was a boatload of great Smiths to see and/or buy
I bid on one and missed by 1k
A 1st/1st hammered at 12k... so about 15k + otd
I enjoyed it immensely
I am enjoying the Stocked NM3 I recently acquired and posted about.
However, I can't understand what the intent of the stock is.
I am guessing it's maybe for a woman or a child as it sure does not fit me.
Any thoughts?
I have only collected antique S&W until now but I saw this and I really liked it.
The Archive letter says it shipped in 1909 as a standard nickel gun. I thought it might be a factory engraved when I bought it.
It has a re work mark of 2.13 under the grips so possibly it was returned to the...
Saw this on GB and I made a token bid.
It was described as a box for a NM3 but the dimensions didn't fit
I think it is for a 38 SA 2nd model ??
It is a fine box. There is a # on the back but so far I can't read it
I am wondering why Amoskeag is so stingy with photos and descriptions.
They charge about the same BP as other auctions.
Do they charge sellers less than others?
I recently saw images of an early New Model 3 that had smooth walnut grips.
They appeared to be Factory fit but I haven't seen that before.
Can anyone comment?
