I was watching this one.
Did I miss something unusual?
A mismatching box perhaps.

I would think 2-3KWhat is the gun in the OP worth?
This doesn’t look like factory engraving to me.I was watching it as well, along with a nice nickel one, both of which went way over with I could afford! Here's a pic of a gorgeous engraved NM#3 for sale up here in the great white north. The seller is asking about $5400. USD which translates into about $7400. CAD. Far too rich for this old pensioner, short of winning a lottery.

Two - three K??? In that condition? From what I've seen of US prices recently on Guns International (which seems very overpriced to me) and GunBroker as well as the auction houses, a NM#3 in that shape seems to run upwards of 4 grand on a pretty consistent basis. They're stupid crazy priced up here for one in exceptional condition. Here's one of very early production (serial #54) .38/44 target pistol in exceptional condition. Seller is asking $12,500. so about $9100. in real money.I would think 2-3K

That is really nice but is not in the same conversation about the OP gunHere is one that sold here in Canada this spring for $12,000. Price is the hammer price in Canadian $ and does not include the Buyers Premimum of 18 %.
