    Anyone put a Pierce +0 on a Bodyguard 2.0?

Saw one for sale today and am inquiring because, with a 10-round magazine, my pinky rests near the floorplate. I'm wondering if the 10-round mag is too small for such an extension for me?

Has anyone bought the comped BG 2.0?

I'd like to get your impressions. Thanks.

    Need recommendations for -

A friend just got his carry license and has asked me to recommend a small, simple handgun. Given the fact that he needs to learn how to shoot and practice regularly, I thought he should start out with the new S&W Model 36 that came out, rather than complicate things for him and eliminate him...

    Buying on-line

Anyone ever buy a handgun without having handled it? I just came from my range where some of the guys were divided on the topic. Personally, I couldn't do it. Could you?

Modifications of my (new to me) Model 36 -

Curious as to what you guys think. I don't have any "safe queens" and I use every gun I own, even if it's only once in awhile. So, I've always disliked the narrow, ridged trigger on some J-frames because it eventually ends up giving me a sore finger. I have a J-frame trigger, I believe the...

    J-Frame Crane Screws

Are there different crane screws for the various years that the model 36 was made? I understand the crane screw secures the cylinder, etc., to the frame, but there must be more to know - can someone educate me? Thank you.

Feeling more secure with a revolver vs. a semi-auto?

I hope this question is in the right Forum. I like both and my collection reflects that but I still feel more secure about my revolvers than I do with any semi-auto I own. I carry either depending on my mood but when the SHTF it's the revolver that will go bang every time. Does anyway...

    I found a minty Model 36!

So, with a lot of patience and careful examination and questioning of several sellers, I found and bought this 1972 Model 36. I'd rate it as about 98% and I'm so pleased to have it. Have a look at my photos - and thanks to everyone for weighing in on my previous post about looking for this!

Why did S&W but a letter in the middle of the serial #?

Greetings All - A long, long time ago, in a far, far away place, Smith & Wesson put serial numbers on revolvers. They were easy to look up the year then, but sometime after than they added a letter in the middle of a serial number, such as 62JXXX, or 19KXXX. How does one date these...

    Why Can't I Find a Mint No-Dash Model 36?

I've been looking for months for the above. It doesn't have to be unfired and I don't expect it to be. I just want nice, original, unmolested bluing. I check here regularly as well as Gunbroker. Nothing. Are they really that scarce? Mods: This is NOT a wanted to buy ad. I'm just...

A different kind of question for this section -

I have the past 3 Standard Catalogs. Do you guys keep them when a new one comes out or do you give the older ones away. Personally, I keep mine for reference purposes.

What say you on the new blue Model 36?

Thinking of picking one up despite my predilection for going on Gunbroker and finding an old one in excellent shape. If you have bought the new, blue 36, please tell me how you like it? Thank you.

BG 2.0 returned from S&W Service

About 3 weeks ago, my BG 2.0 totally crapped out. The trigger could be pulled all the way to the stop without engaging the firing mechanism. The slide locked 3 times with a live round in the chamber. I've been through 4 recoil springs/guide rods, and so many other problems I'm probably...

and while I'm on the subject of the BG 2.0 -

Does anyone here have a name and address for the CEO or Director of Operations for Smith & Wesson? I feel compelled to write a letter. Thanks for your help. Rich

    BG 2.0 with MAJOR problems

Yesterday at the range I had, for the first time, 3 light strikes with ignition (Ammo was Blazer 95gr round nose .380). I assumed it was the ammo and perhaps it was; I don't usually like Blazer because of the aluminum cases. Went back to the range today and tried Aguila ammo (.380, 95gr...
