CS-1 686-what would you do? *Updated with pic*

I decided to go to a local smith who seems to have the look of the S&W finish down pat. He also did the front sight. Turnaround was very fast on the refinishing, but it took something like 6 weeks to get the sight in! for everything it was less than $200, which was a smoking deal as far as I'm...

    PROBLEMS with my S&W .357 686 Plus

Just to relate the "good" side of S&W customer service.I bought a used 442 at a gun show that had a small crack in the frame. (yes, I blew it when looking over the gun). Even though I was not the original owner they sent me out a new, no-lock 442--no charge for shipping or the revolver.

CS-1 686-what would you do? *Updated with pic*

Just a little update--am going to go ahead and have it refinished back to a bead blast finish. And thanks to .357magger's suggestion I'm having a gold bead front put on at the same time. It's unlikely this piece is ever going to leave me, so I might as well have it the way I want! I'll update...

Thanks for the input so far. Personally, I'm leaning towards having it bead blasted.

CS-1 686-what would you do? *Updated with pic*

So, I picked up this CS-1 a little while ago. Somewhere along the line someone polished it up ( Maybe when it went in for the mod? Unless there are some CS-1s out there that came polished that I don't know about). Obviously, this doesn't affect the way it shoots, but if it were yours, would you...

    66 no dash or 686-3?

Thanks for all the quick feedback. I am leaning toward the 686, mainly because I don't have an L-frame, but have to admit, the 66 is sexier. Think maybe I'll go back and check each out a little more thoroughly and see if there is any significant difference in lock-up, timing, or trigger.

    66 no dash or 686-3?

Been lurking on the forum for a while and wanted to get some advice on my next S&W. Wanting to get a stainless model for in the woods, plinking, etc and found a shop that has the two models mentioned in the title, both 4", both in very good condition, both about the same price. I have a pristine...

    Hey from Oregon

Figured I'd finally introduce myself after lurking around for a while. My first gun purchase ever was a Model 10 S&W, but I have to admit, over the last few years I've mainly been playing with the semi's and recently picked up a M&P 9. Just recently I felt a hankering for a 357 and picked up a...
