    ProMags for my 3914?

I have had bad experiences with Promags in hand guns, but have not had problems in rifles. Go figure, Some people say they are find, others like me do not trust them in self defense situations. For handguns, often due to bad range experiences I save my money for OE mags, sometimes a lot of the...

Need help choosing good 1st Revolver for a beginner..

You will never stop with just that first revolver. the most popular revolver on this forum is the model 686. Then the argument starts between four and six inch barrel. 4" being easier to carry and still very good for the range, the six inch being potentially more accurate for the range and home...

Current value of 4006 tsw chp

Not too long ago when they first hit, the market new unissued in box CHP 4006 TSW's were selling for under $300, later batches that i have seen are up in the $500-$600 dollar range.. $A 1,500 4006 would stay on the shelf a long time here.

    Service work delays

I would be grateful if they are t asking their time to have a real gunsmith look at it and not have a kid send it bac asking what the problem was again.

    S&W CSX

II have shot but not maintained them, II think they are nice self defense firearms, but they got a lot of bad press from new gun owners when they first came out, because they were expected by their owners to be the only gun they would ever need for hunting, competition. long range as well as...

    Semi-Auto Help

I second acquiring LEO trade ins when available. The California Highway Patrol Model 4006 TSW trade ins were very cheap a few years ago, but prices stiffened during the recent years, but if you look carefully, you can still find them very reasonable priced.

    Is the .40 dead ? Let's see some !

I picked up an unissued in box California Highway Patrol 4006 trade in. on the cheap I was skeptical of 40 and stoking new rounds, but it was a pleasant surprise. Several other die hard 9mm and 45 acp shooters bought their own 40;s after shooting mine.

Need Help Choosing Barrel Length on 586/686

After many years in Ohio, i found a home in Texas. No income tax (property taxes are high for those under 65 - not a problem for me), gun laws are all about as good as it gets. Prices are low, The weather is moderate (We do have hurricanes in the coast and blizzards in the pan handle,)...

My newly nominated "Worst Company" for customer service

A few general issues, a lot of these companies are so big they have gobbled up their competitors and are near monopolies, deal with them or do without, The people they are hiring from these days too often consider showing up for week itself to be a monumental task - actually doing anything...

What Has Happened to the Smith and Wesson Forum?

This forum has changed a lot over the last 25 years. Particularly with the ownership change - how many still remember that? I think it is all a matter of taste and self-expression. Some people like to be a little edgy and sarcastic which ithers find rude, I have found very few over those years...

    S&W 3913 magazine identification

If I find a 3913 magazine, it makes the whole gu show worth it. I was lucky enough to find two on a dusty shelf at a range shop where they had sat for years still sold at the original price. Usually, I tracke them down at gunshows and pay through the nose. Fir range purposes, i am not above...

What has happened to QC at Smith and Wesson?

We get the quality that we are willing to pay for. We have taught manufactures that it is in their best interest to have very good quality and fixed the defects later rather than get it all right the first time. machines and AI work well,, but take little pride in their craftsmanship. Other gun...

    Tragedy near Kerrville

The forecasts were inaccurate as to the location of the storm until it was too late for some. I wonder if evacuating hundreds of children on a ridiculously stormy night at the last minute without buses would have killed more children than the flood. did. God have mercy on those children and...

    Cs9 holster

Do not know what look you are trying to achieve, but I opted for a nylon holster purchased at a gun show that can easily be mistaken for a phone holster on your belt. Has served well for 20 years.
