Hey guys, what’s the fair value of a good sample of a smith 4006 tsw chp today, I’m seeing them all over the place on gb and GI, anywhere from 8-$1500, just curious what the real word value may be. Have they all of a sudden become some collectible or something, thanks.

I have seen them on GB recently listed at or below 7xx with minimal interest (especially at the 7xx+ range). Guessing the higher prices (800-1500) are in a different world or just dreaming and hoping to find someone with an excess of funds that really wants one. My guess is $7xx tops.

Wow, for $1500 it would have to be mint in box with a huge stash of magazines. A pretty far cry from the $450 I paid for mine a few years ago. And while that was after prices began going up, I did have 100 or so from the same seller to choose from.

Yeah GB likes throwing Hail Marys hoping an idiot will catch it, happens more often than you’d think these days.

3rd Gen prices seem to have gone up a bit over the past couple of years. Maybe people are starting to appreciate how good they are along with some of the olders reaching end of life for whatever reason.

I saw a 3913 that was likely a police trade in at a police supply place the other day. What I would call typical condition, grip wear, wear on the finish. Tagged at $499.95. That's at least $100.00 above what I'd pay for that gun in that condition.

But, I might be out of touch. A shop in MA that I used to buy a fair number of used 3rd Gens from had a 908 listed with a soft case and two magazines at the same price.

Not too long ago when they first hit, the market new unissued in box CHP 4006 TSW's were selling for under $300,
later batches that i have seen are up in the $500-$600 dollar range.. $A 1,500 4006 would stay on the shelf a long time here.
