The value of gun books

It's important to remember that almost all books are professionally edited and generally contain credible information. They are written by knowledgeable authors with bona fide credentials and experience, someone who knows how to do real research and provide factual information to others.

There are exceptions, but with the Internet, YouDupe, self publishing, etc., this is often a secondary and lesser form of passing along information. Little or no editing, "experts" lacking knowledge and experience and unable to research except to use Internet sources that may contain erroneous information passed along by others who really didn't know much either.

Many consider such enlightenment as "good enough", especially since they didn't have to pay for it. Like the guy who buys cheap .22 ammo that's inaccurate and has a lot of misfires. It didn't cost much and he'll keep buying it and keep complaining, never realizing that by spending a little more he wouldn't have to deal with second-rate stuff.

Good paper gun books are worth having.
