Mountain bikes - what should I look for?

All good advise posted by other members. I have an "Iron Horse" and my wife rides a "Fuji". My bike frame is chrome-moly because I weigh 220 pounds and ride very aggresively. My wife's bike frame is aluminum because the weight savings helps her riding. Most of the frames for the...

Too many rifles that do the same thing

Even though you may have overlap in calibers, I find that each gun's configuration is often built for specific purposes. I've got three rifles chambered for .223 Remington and each is considerably different from the others (Remington Model 700 Varmint Special with a Leupold 3-9X40mm, Ruger...

    Toyota Rav4? Ford Escape?

Pretty darn close. I live in the Cooperstown, NY area and my employer's home office is in Philadelphia, PA. I'm a Jr. VP and we do business in 20 states. I prefer to drive, as apposed to fly, when possible. On the weekends, I'm either towing the boat somewhere or I'm hauling the kids off to...

    Toyota Rav4? Ford Escape?

I did (1997 Dodge Stratus, 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2000 Chevy Impala, 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, 2004 Chevy Impala, 2006 Chevy Silverado). We buy a new vehicle about every 2 years becuase I drive 60K+ miles annually. The 2007 Toyota RAV4 was our first foreign made car and the best we've...

    Toyota Rav4? Ford Escape?

Additional feedback on my wife's RAV4 Limited, she is getting 28 mpg with her V6. Opt for the All Wheel Drive option. She drives icy/snow hilly back-roads to/from work with no problems. We also opted for the side-curtain airbags because of the kids. Some add-ons we have gone with include...

    Toyota Rav4? Ford Escape?

My wife has a 2007 Rav4 Limited. She loves it. We went with the V6 and 3rd row seating. The V6 provides the power you need for highway driving, hills, and running the air conditioning. The '07 and newer models are about 1 foot longer than pre-'07 models. The only complaint is the poor...

The First Gun I Bought When I turned 21

Nice gun! I am only a year younger than you are. I also purchased my first handgun when I turned 21, a Glock 21. I still have it and it remains my favored CCW. I am now in the process of replacing all of the "rubber" grips on my revvolvers back to factory wood... I guess life comes full-circle.

Removing The S&W Internal Lock (Video)

Thanks for the very informative and professionally done video. It sure makes de-activation of the lock look very simple. My Model 60 & 25 will be undergoing some surgery this coming week.

    NYSP stamped Model 65-3

My dad is a retired NYSP (New York State Police) Officer. He put 23 years in on the job. I gave him a call and asked him about the Model 65. The Model 65 was one of the departments assigned handguns, replacing the Model 28 in 1981, before adopting the Glock 17 in 1990. 3" (round butt) Model...

Anyone with one of the new 60's with 3 inch barrels?

I picked up a new Model 60-15 (stainless) w/ a 3" barrel in July. It came with S&W's "Hi-Viz" sights and their laminated Finger Groove Combat Grips (charcoal/ruby). It shoots as good as it looks. I have no problem shooting .357 Mag loads. I use it as my CCW when I'm out on our boat.

I am so Pi--ed off! I dropped my 3" 66 in the gravel yesterday.

+1, You have to expect that a pistol used in the field will acquire some beauty marks, but I would rethink the rig that you are using to carry...
