    Valuation on Refinished Python

Thanks for the replies. After sleeping on it I think I am over Buck Fever and will go back to the original plan of a PC gun. The 627 or perhaps the TRR8. Talk about going from Beauty to the Beast ...

    Valuation on Refinished Python

Today I came across a beautiful Colt Python 6" from about 1980 which has been refinished in Metaloy. Appearance is excellent. It shot like a dream. The price is about what I could pay for a brand new S&W PC in 357 Magnum (which is why I post here). Question: What is a fair price for this...

    S&w trr8

I rented both of these at Scottsdale Gun Club last month. The 627PC had the shorter wood grips. I liked the comfort of the TRR8 much better, and shot more accurately with it. Perhaps with rubber grips it would have been closer. In terms of recoil, neither were objectionable with 158gr. 357...

    Most Accurate .357 Model?

Yes, probably the biggest thing to improve is my own ability. The gun's accuracy is probably more than adequate for any of the ones I am interested in. It's so hard to chose I can see why so many posters here have a table full of them ;-)

    Most Accurate .357 Model?

OK, I got out to Scottsdale Gun Club last week and was able to try two top contenders - the 627PC and the TRR8. Both shot well with 158 gr. 38 Special and even better with 158 gr. 357 Magnum. (I used the house provided brand of ammo, MagTech IIRC.) Both guns were very comfortable, no recoil...

    Most Accurate .357 Model?

I was just at the PC web site looking at the 627 V-Comp. It looks like it would be a serious target gun. I shot FAL's with them and they are softer to shoot, but the with the FAL the ears paid the price (as well as shooters to either side). But how much louder is the compensator on a revolver?

    Most Accurate .357 Model?

Thanks for the replies! It seems like I can't go wrong with any of the S&W models, so long as I have a decent sight radius. It sounds like just a matter of how much I want to spend. I would definitely go new. As someone mentioned, manufacturing processes now are probably better, plus as a noob I...

    Most Accurate .357 Model?

I was at the range with a friend a couple of weeks ago and he let me shoot his Kimber Raptor II. I had never shot a 1911 pistol before, but what a revelation it was! From 10 yards I proceeded to put 7 of 8 shots into a single hole that could be covered by a quarter. I have never shot like that...
