    Downside to pocket holster...

Not true. When you get in your car draw the piece and put it under your left leg, for a right hand draw. Do the opposite (right leg, left hand draw) when seated on the passenger side. Reholster before you get out of the car. If you crash and loose the gun, your BUG becomes the primary. You've...

Want to start reloading... Suggestions for beginner

I think I'm a little different than most handloaders. I save a lot of money. I do shoot a little more, but not much, so the savings are definately there. If I went to cast bullets instead of plated/jacketed, I would save even more.

No one did, brother. Just a gentle reminder that as you limit the constitutional rights of another American, you put a limit on your own.

    Single handgun safes

Due to my ageing legs, I wouldn't either. That would suck the big wazuoo. Last December, I had a car full of idiots (drunken) try to barge into my house at 4:00 AM on a Sunday morning. I had plenty of time to get ready to shoot. My shooting buddies laughed at that one, they said "Talk about...

    Single handgun safes

Here's a crazy idea. Have you considered a small safe and then just using it as a nightstand? If you don't like that idea, that's cool. Just a thought. All that said, I don't subscribe to the whole nightstand gun idea. Everyone is different, but once I, while sound asleep, sat up, picked up...

Limit their rights, you limit your own, of course. I can understand someone wanting to carry just to carry when they first get their license. It's the exileration of a person who has thrown off the yoke of oppression and is enjoying their God given freedom for the first time. rdhubba, now...

    New S & W J Frame Heritage Grips

Taz, if they're made for S&W by Altamont then they're good stuff. My wife and I have Altamonts on five of our guns and have been nothing but satisfied.

I'm teaching a woman revolvercraft right now. Being left handed, she handles the ammo better with her left hand and is more comfortable holding the gun's grip in her right hand. She's an anomaly in that she's left handed, but shoots right handed. Luckily she has no cross eye dominance issues...

    38spl Ammo...Why So Much Junk?

Jim Cirillo wrote about two stakeout cops who grabbed an armed robber by the collar and emptied their snubs in his face at point blank range. None of the 158 gr. RNL made it into the guys cranial vault. As the perp awoke from being cold cocked by the bullets, he asked for a hanky. He blew his...

My Latest 10mm Conversion -- a true pocket pistol!!!

It opens up the group, but at the same time, that flyer is a good hit! Thanks for the range report. How was the recoil?

Nothing against my friend Massad, but he didn't fish the thing from a pocket and then load. I'd have had a second gun going by the time he was gettting started loading. That said, thanks for posting. I learned from that video.

    357-Maf 158gr ??

Not me. The time to use loads other than 125s in .357 is when you and your gun for whatever reason shoot better with them, or to avoid K frame forcing cone issues. Don't expect better performance from other bullet weights although there are many non-125 gr. loads that will work just fine.

What would be a good home defence gun

I love those Ithacas. That seven shot Deerslayer would be a superlative weapon when fighting from a static position such as a bedroom (not that I really need to tell you that, bro). I'd call it far from useless.

    1917 for CCW / Defense?

I wouldn't shorten the barrel. The .45 ACP is slow and needs all the help it can get. That's why I don't like short barrel .45s. The hardest paret of an N frame to hide is the cylinder, not the barrel excepting, perhaps, OWB carry. Regarding handloads, I would tend toward lighter bullets as...

Yep. It's about as easy to hide a second gun as another speedloader.

    Some .38 Special Chronograph Tests

Terry_p is on the right track and probably came up with as good of a load as any of us mere mortals can, except perhaps using an old fire breathing manual such as, IIRC, Speer #8. I'm pretty certain Buffalo Bore is using powders not commercially available and more importantly, blending powders...
