Both the NRA and GCO have endorsed Nathan Deal in his runoff election for the Republican nomination for Governor of Georgia.

Deal has been one of the most conservative members of the US House of Representatives since 1993, and is by far the most conservative candidate for governor.

We are really lucky in that none of the candidates are anti-gun. I think Deal would wind up being one of the most gun-friendly Governors in the US if he is elected.

My brother was in college with Deal way back in the 60s. Deal was the president of the fraternity my bro was in, and he really thinks a lot of him.

I am a Big Dummy.
I meant to post this in the 2nd Amendment Forum.
If someone with magical powers will move it for me, I will appreciate it.

Unless I missed an e-mail, the GCO did not endorse anyone in the GA gubernatorial race.

I just received the GCO update announcing the organization's support. Bad form! They should have notified the members first.

Karen Handel wants to abolish the elected Sheriff in favor of the Board of Commissioners controlling law enforcement. She calls the elected and constitutional Office of Sheriff a throwback to the Middle Ages.

I'm not claiming that Sheriffs get it right all the time in the least, but at least the electorate gets to directly approve or disapprove the Sheriff's actions.
