NOTE: This thread is posted with the prior permission of Lee (Handejector)!

As most all of you are aware, the NRA's Board of Directors election is around the corner. As a reminder, both Life members (all varieties) and multi-year members are eligible to vote.

My club (Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club [Delaware]) has been privileged to have our own John Sigler serve as an NRA President, and he is currently serving on the Board of Directors. John is at the point of his life, where he wants to ease back.

Our Club is promoting Jeff Hague (who has also been nominated by the Board of Directors) to run for the Board. Jeff has been, and still is, an active High Power Rifle competitor. In addition, he is our Club's treasurer and the current President of the Delaware State Sportsmen's Association. He has been an ardent supporter of gun rights in Delaware, he has been a legislative lobbyist, and has helped draft (IIRC) successful legislation.

We (our Club) has found that we have been more successful at electing members to the Board via bullet ballots as opposed to full slate ballots.

As noted in many threads on the current status of the NRA, Jeff is the type of person that you want representing you on the Board of Directors! Jeff has integrity and a clear vision of what needs to be done to preserve our 2A rights!

When your ballot arrives, please consider bullet voting for Jeff Hague!

Thank you for your support!

According to the Rifleman magazine Hague dropped out, but to late to get his name of the ballot. Strange!

I noticed the same, when I received my new magazine yesterday.

lrrifleman, could you let us know what is going on with that?

Thanks!

I can personally recommend a vote for Jim Wallace, number 17 on my ballot, but some have him at a different number. He leads the Gun Owner's Action League (GOAL.ORG) here in MA. He works tirelessly down at our Statehouse trying to improve and protect our gun and hunting rights. Never heard even one disparaging remark about him.

If you're a member of GOAL you know exactly where I'm coming from.

Fellow forum members,

As you will note, at the beginning of this post, I was promoting a member of my club that has been nominated for the NRA Board of Directors. It recently came to my attention that he withdrew his name from consideration. I had communicated with him, to confirm that he did in fact, withdraw his name.

Jeff felt that had he been elected to the Board, it would pose a conflict of interest for his role as a lobbyist in Delaware. I must respect his decision.

This post has been delayed due to my cataract surgery, and I had to wait until I had fewer challenges to my vision before I went online.

Thank you for those of you that considered voting for Jeff.

Everyone pays to be a member, only "certain" members are allowed to vote. So much for the founding fathers of our country values purported by the NRA.

You just have to be an annual member for a continuous five years, a life member or higher. Not sure where they came up with the five year timeframe unless it was just to keep people from stuffing the ballot box. I definitely would not want a bunch of Bloomberg's folks signing up, voting in their choice(s), then going about their merry way.

I did a "bullet vote" for Jim Wallace, GOAL Executive Director. Jim is a very passionate 2A supporter and has done a good job with the MA state org in spite of few legislative supporters.

I may be wrong but I think that the Board of Directors should furnish each paid up member a copy of the actions that were taken at each Board Meeting and how each Member voted.
Until then we have little, in most cases, to base our votes on.

You have no "need to know".
