    L-Frame Smiths

Thanks for your replies. I agree that round butts look odd on 4" and longer barrels. However, if you have small hands like me, they are helpful. I have a round butt model 60 3" that I put round to square butt grips on. The grips are Altamont super walnut.

    L-Frame Smiths

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but I've never owned an L-Frame. Do all the recent production one have round butts?

Born on date for K22 Masterpiece

I bought this K22 Masterpiece about 6 years ago. I'm curious when it was built. Any help would be appreciated.

    Going price on 60-4

Smith & Wesson still lists them on their website. I paid $700 NIB for mine about 7 years ago. I'm sure it's not the 60-4 though. It has the dreaded hole for the lock.

New 340PD Quality control issue - Bought yesterday

Guess I'm lucky. I've bought 3 new Smiths in the last 6 months and as near as I can tell they are flawless. Model 43, Model 640 PC, Model M&P 340

    640 vs 640-1

I have the 640 Pro and I don't find it too heavy to carry in a pocket holster in my blue jeans. YRMV.

What do you PLAN to reload next?

After an inventory of my reloading supplies, a decision is pretty easy. I have a good supply of large pistol primers, .45 cast bullets for .45 Colt, .45 flat point and round point full metal jacket bullets for .45 auto, and .41 JHP bullets for the .41 Mag. The variety and quantity of powder...

Did powder just dry up again?

Two weeks ago I ordered Winchester Auto Comp directly from Hodgdon's web site. It took me about a week to get it. I was just out looking at the site and noticed they had order buttons next to their powders.

    Chamber dimensions in 9mm handguns

I follow the same routine as you when using a different bullet. At the time I bought the Sierra 125 gr JHP's, the only 9mm handguns I owned were a Ruger SR9c and an HK VP9. The load data I had called for a COAL of 1.130". I tried the "plunk" test on these 2 guns and found that the rounds were...

Powder Valley On The Primer Shortage

I was relatively smart at the last shortage. I started stocking up in 2007. This one caught me napping. I have around 3K of SP, 6K of LP and 3K SR and 1K of LR primers. That will get me by for awhile, but nuttin' lasts forever.

    Chamber dimensions in 9mm handguns

That's interesting. I was blaming it on the Sierra bullets.

    Chamber dimensions in 9mm handguns

I can sure agree with that! I've found that .45 Auto and .40 S&W are the most trouble-free to reload. I have 6 1911's and a Ruger P345 in .45 Auto. I use the same range reloads in all of them with no problems. I don't own a .40 S&W anymore, but have owned 4 different ones over the years. None of...

    Chamber dimensions in 9mm handguns

Yeah I bought a thousand a while back also. The are really accurate in my 9mm's, but are really picky on overall length. If I can ever find Hornady 124 gr XTP's again, I'll stock up on them. They have never given me any issues when I do my part correctly.
