Georgia Arms, I believe, offers a 240 grain lead SWC at about 1100 fps. They shoot well and are very controlable with practice, decent prices too.

Georgia Arms make good ammo and the prices are as good as any other factory ammo I've found. Their 240 grain lead loads in .44 mag are equivalent to the old Winchester midrange loading (about 1100 fps).

I've used it. It is a good approximation of the old LE load put out by the major manufacturers when the .41 was young. I have never had any problems with any of the georgia arms ammo and have used it for years.

If you reload You can look into Manstopper bullets (google) as an alternative but they have to be loaded deep or in shorter cases (.38 spl for .357 mag) or they are hard to load into the cylinder as the bullet is full diameter at the nose and can bind in the throat.

+1 on that. The intimidation value of a shotgun, especially a pump, is not to be taken lightly. On that pre 27, or any collector quality gun for that matter, understand that if you use it for a self-defense shooting it will take a long time to get it back from the police, if ever.
