looking to buy a refinished 24-3, need advice

Sounds good. I don't want to pay too much, but I don't want to take advantage of him, either. I would plan on keeping it, but I'd like to know that I could recoup my costs if I ever did sell it.

looking to buy a refinished 24-3, need advice

I'm looking at a co-worker's 24-3 Lew Horton 3" .44SPL. It has been refinished and appears to be hard chrome. It looks to be a pretty nice job, although an older refinish. They left the hammer and trigger case hardened, thankfully. Front sight is hard chrome finished too. I can't tell if grips...

WTB, early .32 Safety Hammerless extractor**FOUND ONE**

I am looking for an early model extractor for a .32 Safety Hammerless. It's the one that has a hex shaped shaft. Does not need to be like new, but would like a nice useable one with good ratchets on it. Nickel gun it's for is approx. 80% finish.

.38 M&P 5" nickel Patent/Display box for sale in good condition. It is burgundy colored and the label is for a Military Police .38, Nickel 5 inch Square Butt. The inside shows English and Spanish. The very bottom line in the center reads "This Container Patented Dec. 28, 1920". Slight tear at...

    Questions about pre-war box value?

Wow that helps quite a bit, thanks. That would easily cover the cost of what I paid for the little .32, with a little left over to find a new extractor for it. (one of the fingers is broken off).

    Questions about pre-war box value?

Mods, if this is in the wrong section, I do apologize and please let me know where is appropriate. No other section appeared right for this to me. I recently purchased a little .32 Safety Hammerless that came in an old M&P box. I'd really like to find out more about the M&P box. It is burgundy...

    Model 34-1 .22LR/.22Mag question

LOL, $250 would be the "beating" I was referring to that I would take. Sorry, gonna keep it for awhile I think.

    Model 34-1 .22LR/.22Mag question

Thanks everyone for the answers and advice. I think I'll keep it, at least for awhile. I haven't even had the chance to shoot it yet, so maybe I'll fall in love with it. All this talk about it and I forgot a picture. Here goes one.

    Model 34-1 .22LR/.22Mag question

The barrel is marked .22LR. The likelihood that someone reamed the chambers later is what I was afraid of. Will the .22LR barrel cause problems if shooting magnums? I don't want to do anything unsafe, but at the same time I'll take a beating on it if I sell it, which would be with full...

    Model 34-1 .22LR/.22Mag question

OK, so I bought a 34-1 snubby .22lr from a friend who needed cash. Timing, lockup and endshake all look good. The gun looks fine in all respects. About two weeks after I bought it, he brings in a box of ammo that he had left over from shooting it. They were .22Magnums! He said that's what he...

    Roses....Got Any?

I don't have any that are worth a picture, but yours look beautiful! BTW, I love your style of home. Those logs along the roof look great inside, I'll bet.

Regret time?? Which do you regret selling/trading/not buying the most?

The one I truly regret. Model 29-2 4" Nickel with the Three "T's". Easily 98%, in the wooden presentation box, lining was immaculate including the tools with it. The only flaw I remember is a small spot on the left grip where a casing had dinged it during ejection (I assume, it was there when I...

What can you tell me about this gun?

I would say a pre model 10 Military and Police, but I can't really help otherwise. Surely somebody with a more extensive knowledge can add to that. **Other guys beat me to it! :) **

    Nightstand .38 Top-break

Nice! I have a buddy who does the same thing, but instead of modifying speedloaders, he just keeps two of the .38 S&W's handy and loaded.

What is your favorite Mountain Gun, and why?

I've only ever owned the .45 Colt one, and I handload for it. I don't like the recoil of an N-frame .44 Magnum, so the .45colt works better for me anyway.

WTB N frame Service stocks SQ butt

I'm looking for some good condition service stocks for a Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman. These would be the ones without diamonds. Excellent to new is not needed, but I would like them to be appropriate in wear to a gun that is around 95% or so. Couple of knicks or something is OK by me, just not...

    M28-2 HP correct grips?

Thanks guys. I have two sets of service grips on my watchlist on ebay that end in a couple days. I'm going to see where they end up pricewise and throw a bid in last minute if they aren't getting too high. One more question. Are the "service" stocks and "magna" stocks different, or just two...
