Questions about pre-war box value?

Mods, if this is in the wrong section, I do apologize and please let me know where is appropriate. No other section appeared right for this to me.

I recently purchased a little .32 Safety Hammerless that came in an old M&P box. I'd really like to find out more about the M&P box. It is burgundy colored and the label is for a Military Police .38, Nickel 5 inch Square Butt. The inside label shows English and Spanish. The very bottom line in the center reads "This Container Patented Dec. 28, 1920".

The penciled in serial # on the bottom of the box reads 610023.
SCSW shows serial #'s 241704-1000000 to be c.1915-1942.
This is from page 139 of the 3rd edition.

I'd really like to know an accurate value of this so I can recoup some of my purchase of the safety hammerless.

the box would be for a M&P 1905 Hand Ejector the year would be about 1925 to 1927. These boxes are not as hard to find as the ones for the
N frame Revolvers as they made a lot of these guns. For a box in the condition as yours they sell on ebay the range is about 120.00 to 165.00

Wow that helps quite a bit, thanks. That would easily cover the cost of what I paid for the little .32, with a little left over to find a new extractor for it. (one of the fingers is broken off).

The box for sure puts you in the right section.

Advertise your box right here on this forum in the classifieds and put in another ad for the extractor. You might even find someone with what you need as small part payment for the box.
