    Thunder Ranch 325 Revolver

Replaced the firing pin. Old one was .489, new was .510 I think, can't remember the measurement of the new one, but that's close. It works great now. Fired 21 .45 auto rim rounds and it punches a dent in that primer now every time. Been a long road since buying this gun to having it repaired...

Old Firing pin Still waiting for the new firing pin. Took out the old one and it measures .489. I believe the new one is .500 so hopefully that could solve the problem.

    Thunder Ranch 325 Revolver

45 auto rim I tried to find some 45 auto rim to buy months ago. That's why I bought the brass and reloaded my own. I might see if I can find some factory rounds somewhere. I have a longer firing pin on order and am very anxious to try it and see what happens. S&W answered my email and of course...

    Thunder Ranch 325 Revolver

Seating primers It's very difficult to seat primers at a certain depth. At least with the seater I use. I read several places that primers should be seated below flush with the brass, no doubt not too low. It still think it is strange that only 4 out of 80 failed to fire and have very light...

    Thunder Ranch 325 Revolver

Firing pin I am sure that is the total length of the new pin. Not sure what the stock pin length is. The company I ordered it from only gave the specs of the one I am buying.

    Thunder Ranch 325 Revolver

I have a new firing pin on the way. I will install it and get to the range right away. Hope it gets here soon. If that doesn't fix the problem I will go with a longer screw that pushes on the main spring.

Primers Either CCI or Winchester, those are the only brands I have in the safe right now. Most likely CCI.

    Thunder Ranch 325 Revolver

I ordered a new longer firing pin. It is .500 longer and made from better steel, so they say. It was about $24.00 with shipping and I am anxious to put it in and try it. I believe the spring they give you is slightly weaker also.

    Thunder Ranch 325 Revolver

Front spring screw I watched a You Tube video of a guy who put a custom spring in his S&W revolver and the light strikes did not go away and he then put a longer screw in place of the original and solved the problem. I checked the screw on mine and it turned about 1/4 turn to tight. I'm putting...

Fired and light strikes Here is a picture of the ones that had light strikes and 4 that fired. It's amazing to me that 76 fired fine with good hits on the primer and only 4 had light strikes. I bought 100 rounds of brass from Midway, and these are the ones I fired from that. I bought this gun...

    Does reloading cause brain damage?

Using a hammer puller used to drive me insane. I bought a bullet puller for my press and barely was able to salvage what was left of my brain. So much easier than that terrible hammer.

    Thunder Ranch 325 Revolver

My new Thunder Ranch just came back from repair. Took them 93 days to repair it. Meanwhile I reloaded some .45 Auto Rim ammo for it's return. I fired the auto rim today and out of 80 rounds 4 had light strikes on the primer. I do tend to seat my primers slightly below even, but never before had...

    Warranty repair turn around?

It's getting close to a month since S&W emailed me to tell me they received my 325 Thunder Ranch for warranty repair. And that was a week after I sent it off. I think I will wait until it has been 30 days before I send them an email. I'm sure they have problems because of the crazy things going...

    Thunder Ranch 325

It is definitely not a moon clip, the hammer hangs with or without a moon clip. It also only hangs in one position and the only thing that changes from one position of the cylinder to another is the cylinder itself. It looks to me like the cylinder stop is not fully engaging into one particular...

    Thunder Ranch 325

Bought a Thunder Ranch 325 on GunBroker, $1170.00 plus $50.00 background check. Took it to the range and shot 25 rounds. Shoots great but the hammer won't go all the way back every time. Something broken in there. Expensive new gun, go to the range and it breaks. Most of my cheapest guns are...

    M&P 40c

I have fired this gun a few times since I first purchased it. I then put a 357 Sig barrel in it and fired that a few hundred times. My memory is that it was accurate with the Sig rounds, but it has been awhile. The real disappointment is the fact that my Beretta PX4 .40 Sub-compact is so...

    M&P 40c

I tried different types of POA. Fired 15 rounds all aimed at the bullseye at 30 feet with the rest. My usual POA is impact point resting on top of front sight. But I tried point of impact covered by the front sight. Did not seem to matter much. I tried aiming right and high to compensate for the...

    M&P 40c

I have owned this M&P 40 compact for a couple years. I bought a .357 Sig barrel for it and don't really care for that round, even though I started reloading it. Anyone need a set of 357 Sig dies? I fired 150 rounds of .40 through the M&P today. It is not very accurate. I shot at 7 feet and 30...

    M&P .40 and plated bullets

Factory Rounds I need to try some factory rounds just to get a starting point. I should be getting just over 1000fps with the 165gr Berry's with 5.7gr Bullseye. I have shot 100's of 9mm Berry's bullets and have always liked the accuracy. Some .40's in my CZ Rami, Ruger P84, Walther PPS, and my...
