Bought a Thunder Ranch 325 on GunBroker, $1170.00 plus $50.00 background check. Took it to the range and shot 25 rounds. Shoots great but the hammer won't go all the way back every time. Something broken in there. Expensive new gun, go to the range and it breaks. Most of my cheapest guns are better than that. Really wish I waited for the Ruger Blackhawk convertible. Doesn't even need moon clips which are a pain in the butt to use. If it's expensive you think it has to be good right?

Moon clips are not a problem. They are great. Just get lots of them and a loading tool. A guy on Gunbroke sells them 10 for $3.43. Get 100 of them. I never mess with clips at the range. A simple twist tool will declip the brass quickly with no effort at all. A piece of tubing that the ID will slip over a 45 acp with the end ground so that it has a high spot with a square shoulder. Slide it over brass turn it so shoulder hits clip and twist and the brass pops right out.

Sounds like your hammer spring screw is loose or the grip screw is being hit by the main spring. I don't have any T325 thunder ranch models. I do have 2 325 night guards and some 1917s, some 625s. My carry gun is a 325 NG

Great guns.

I have some coffee cans. One holds moon clips with fired brass. I take those and pop the brass out into another coffee can. Reload it and refill the clips and stick them in another coffee can.

What is your holster and method if carry for the 325? I'd love to get my hands on one of those one day. For close to 2 grand, I've missed the boat I'm afraid

Got one.
Hammer not coming back could be a bad moon clip[bent]
Mine shoots very well.
Moon clips from Ranch Products [I order by the hundred]
They also make a 2 shot clip [1/3 moon] that is great for CCW
as they fit in a flat pouch or pocket well.
My holster is from LOBO and is made for use WITH the light rail!!!!
Very good quality....
Get a mooner /demooner tool.

I have some of the 2 round clips. put have kind of gone to the old style 1/2 moons for my CC reload

Most of the time I use an Azula K for my 325.

I think I am going to turn the second one into a 45 colt.

Unless you just "need" a 45 colt. 45 AR can be used to match
The 45 colt...
See underwood, Buffelo bore, corbond or double tap.
Also remember ,,, the M/25/325/625 can handle 45 super or similer.

It is definitely not a moon clip, the hammer hangs with or without a moon clip. It also only hangs in one position and the only thing that changes from one position of the cylinder to another is the cylinder itself. It looks to me like the cylinder stop is not fully engaging into one particular notch of the cylinder. If that cylinder stop does not fully seat into that notch the whole system cannot work correctly. It would only take a couple thousands for that stop to fail to seat.
