I like Alaska the Great frontier. It may or may not be fake , but I like the people, they seem relatively real.

Hey Jorge, Thanks for the recommendation I plan on keeping these tires on it until I get ready for my great adventure driving it out West to Co`s Rocky Mts for camping and non-stop photographing. I want to tow a teardrop camper trailer.I will definitely get the best tires money can buy when I`m...

    My Wolf is here

I finally took delivery of my Wolf its a MB 1990 GD 250 and a pretty nice rust free example. As one of our members here stated in a previous post it is painfully slow , but feels unstoppable, so I`ll just have to learn to deal with the lack of power. I`m taking it to the shop tomorrow to see if...

    Which loctite?

I use Loctite every day and I only use red and blue. The blue is for most items that will require adjustment and re doing . The red is for permanent things that will have to stay put for a long time. I can loosen screws that were done with red if I heat them first. The blue does not need heat...

I just read S&W was not chosen to advance to the next level of the competition for the Army's new hand gun. I wonder why and who is still in the race?

    Humor in Uniform: Part II

A "Starter" was a home made switch kind of mini whip, which was used to get you started if you took too long to jump to a command. It was almost certainly out lawed long before my time , but there were still some "Old Salts" who got away with using them. I almost got it once , but I was quick...

    Humor in Uniform: Part II

I too remember the "touchy feely" Navy when a Petty Officer would box your ears for some offense or other. We even had a Bosun who had a "Starter" anyone remember them? I only got roughed up a few times , but I believe it did make me a better sailor . Is it time to bring back"The Rocks & Shoals"???

    Charlotte NC Tonight!!

Not to steal this thread, but what is the correct reaction to a crowd blocking the interstate destroying your car and beating up the occupants? I am too old to take a whipping and I certainly won't allow someone to touch my wife! I know what I would do how about you other guys?

    Humor in Uniform: Part II

I too went to SanDiego boot camp in July 1962. I was a very competitive rower- crew / racing shells in Philadelphia and as soon as I saw we had pulling Whaleboats and were going to race them ,I was overjoyed. I went to my company commander a CPO and I begged him to let me be the coxswain and...

    Carrying 1911's Locked-n-Cocked???

I had a 1911 in a fanny pack cocked and locked with the safety double checked to ensure it was on safe. My son and I went bouncing over goat trails in the CO Rocky Mts on the Alpine loop and had a great time until that evening when we made camp and I pulled the 1911 out of the fanny pack and...
