Rather than hijack another thread, I thought I'd start a new one. What is your favorite car, both ones you've owned and wanted to own?

Of ones I've owned, it was a 1964 Chevy Impala SS Convertible, bright red with a white top and white interior. It had the infamous (both in song and for blowing up) 409 engine. I got rid of it to make space, but have long regretted it.

Of ones I'd like to own, the venerable XKE Jaguar coupe, with honorable mention to the latest model Corvette.

None of these cars would be daily drivers, as I live in Michigan where winter salt eats cars alive.

My favorites of the ones I've owned were an '82 Toy 4x4 PU and a 65 MB 230 SL
The Toy was a great off roader that I only kept for a few years, needed a full size for work. The Benz was fun in the canyons.

I'm of a mature enough age that the car i got when i turned 16, a '66 Chevelle, at the time was a nice used car that was easy to find. Learned how to do a lot of things in that car lol.
The most fun/abused car, was a 70 1/2 Camaro that for a couple years was a blast on the WI backroads.

And of course now being a grandpa, i really wish I had my first car. That Mustang sure put a smile on my face, though i don't think I'd have the legs for it these days.
;)

To be honest, I've owned a lot of cars over the years, many were good transportation and a few were toys. Some of the more recent ones (even an s2000 we had) were probably faster than most of the small block cars i had back in the day. But none of the newer toys had the lopey idle that really can make one's heart skip a beat. And for me, that sound still does.

Owned a LOT.. Got a new C7 Corvette when they came out...nice..gone now..no regrets. I posted in the other thread that for me..just me..only me, 1963 Buick Riviera was the most beautiful car that I NEVER had. We have a big car show here every spring, over 2,500 cars. There are always 3 or 4 '63 Rivs. They still stir me up. This year a '63, all black, red leather interior, nail-head with 2 4 barrels. WOW!

Cars I have owned
1964 Chevy II
1963 425hp 409 Impala
1969 Camaro (2)
1970 Chevelle (my first car)
1970 Monte Carlo
1978 Trans Am one of less than 30 made with factory 4-spd and WS-6 option (totaled on a Chrysler K-Car)

Ones I'd like to own
1955 Chevy two door sedaN
1966 427 Corvette Coupe
1965 GTO
1966 or 67 Nova
1968-1970 Hemi Roadrunner
1968 Chevelle
C-7 Corvette

Owed a lot of nice rides over the years, now on my 7 Vette a 15 rag top (Avatar)

My favorite for so many reasons dates me. It was a 67 Dodge RT 440 convertible I bought new in 67. Street and strip racing was a big thing back them and I most certainly did my share. I also worked part time at my buddies speed shop and I had a lot of goodies in the car and it was one of the fastest cars around Albany at that time. Albany back them was a hotbed of car guys and street racing! Car was my daily driver!

I drove it on the strip and also raced on the street. Being in my early 20s then with a hot car was the good life! Had a good looking blond girl that rode with me most times!:)

Of one I would now like to have is a difficult choice as of the Vette I now have but I would say I would like to build or buy a Restomod. It would be a C2 Corvette convertible (63-65) with a late modern Vette engine/ transmission and all updated running gear. A nice 700+HP street car:D

Would like to own: '69 Pontiac GTO Judge
Do/did own: my current ride '03 Chevy Tahoe would be closely followed by an '81 Camaro Z28 I had until 1984 when I moved to Colorado.

My family loves to kid me about the number of cars I've owned since I turned 16 (44 years ago), somewhere in the neighborhood of 30+/-.

Mustangs for me and the one I want now is hard to find and costs lots of green. A 1966 Shelby GT 350H,it would look so good next to my 1964 1/2 coupe.

I had a 64 1/2. Early car still had a generator. It was a 289HP, 271horsepower 4 speed car. I got to know a lot of men at Holman Moody from 65 to 68. We finally got that little car to about 300 horses and took it to the ice house scales to weigh 2,104 pounds. It was stripped, gutted and holes drilled everywhere. With 4:10 gears it was a stoplight terror. I have a 2016 GT Mustang now with all the go fast goodies and automatic trans..I got OLD. Had an '11 Shelby and a '13 Boss, got the new Corvette and got spoiled not changing gears.

Drove an XKE that a friend had once, very nice. Would love to have one.

That said, believe the XKE was 260 HP. My Accord is 278 HP. Oh we'll, the XKE is a lot sexier.

Has a 1976 Cutlass Salon for a very short time, mahogany metallic with a white vinyl interior

. Probably (to me) the most stunning car I've ever had.

I could go on and on, but for now, love my Accord.

The Mercedes SS series. There was nothing else like them for power and elegance. I fell in love with them when I came across a coffee table book on them in the old Wabash Ave. Kroch's & Brenanto's store in Chicago. There was even a picture of one with a Scarff ring for a machine gun in the back!

I've owned Corvettes continuously since I was 21 which was 50 years ago. I've had about 60 including '58, '59, '60, '61, several '62's, a '63, '64, '65, '67, '69, '70, ''71, '72, '73, '74 then skipped years to a bunch of '98- '07's. I've had about 10 Rivieras from '63 to '65 then '86 to '96. I did this on a school teacher's salary with no family money but I also had no children. I really loved the '62's partly because it was my first but as the years pass, it is a pretty primitive ride in about every respect except looks. The later models do everything better and safer. In the "old days" if you bought a Corvette right, you didn't lose money. Can't do that with the newer ones!
