Your favorite car?

One of the Bertone-bodied Alfa Coupes from the '60s and '70s. I had a '68 1750 that was a bit of a beater, and I never got to drive it much. I'd like to own one that loks like this:

For exotica, I'd take a Ford GT, preferably a GT40, but one of the current repros would suit me fine.

I currently own 10 vehicles, so picking a favorite is tough. I guess the '31 Model A is tops, but I like all of them. The car I miss the most is my '85 Crown Vic. It was my first car, and it never left me stranded. The trans quit in the driveway, and then I found the C pillar had rusted thru under the vinyl roof, so I let it go. The one I regret not buying was the '03 Mercury Marauder. I came close, but the payments and insurance would have taken every dime of disposable income I had at the time. If I could go back and do it over I'd have bought the car and found a third job to pay for it. The car I'd most like to get is the '56 Ford Fairlane Victoria.

My menagerie of cars, past and present:
1985 Crown Vic (RIP)
1994 Grand Marquis (RIP)
1997 Grand Marquis (RIP)
1931 Model A Tudor
1967 Rambler American
1983 Ford LTD
1984 F150
1985 Ford LTD Brougham
1986 Olds Cutlass Supreme
1989 Grand Marquis
1999 F150
2001 Crown Vic P71
2003 Grand Marquis LSE

I have a genetic predisposition to Ford's. My family has been driving them for a century, since my grandpop bought his first car, a 1914 Model T touring car, in 1916.

It wasn't new, in fact it was my work car. A Dodge Charger just
like the General Lee on the Dukes of Hazzard, only mine was
dark blue. Around town it was known as the General Grant. It
didn't jump creeks as well as the Gen.Lee. One night after too
much scooter juice, I missed a bridge on a small creek. I did
make it across, but didn't get to drive away.

1967 Corvette convertible, 327/350hp, M-22 four speed, 3.70 posi, factory side pipes, goodwood green, saddle brown interior. First thing I bought when I got out of the Army in 1971. Yes, I still have it.

My first car was a 1952 Buick Super 4 door. It had been my granddaddy's car. Pop Pop bought it in '54 and drove it until he died in '58. My grandmother kept it garaged and then gave it to me when I was 17. I drove it until 2000. The only reason I sold it was that I didn't have a garage and it was rusting away.

A friend of mine found me a 1952 Roadmaster last week and he will be going over it mechanically this winter. Can't wait to drive it! :)

I've always wanted a Packard. Goofy, I know, but while in high school (1968) I worked with an older gentleman that had a 1950 Packard. That being my year of birth and all, I loved that graceful look they had.

The Packard motto was, "ask the man who owns one."

Probably the best car I had was a MB E350, but let it go when I saw that proper maintenance as it aged and retirement income was on a budgetary collision course.

Got married in 1968 and wanted to buy a Buick Gran Sport 400. Wifey said no we needed things for the house. :(
Turned out to be a good thing we didn't get it.
The other one would be a Lingenfelter Corvette.

I forgot a couple
I had a 1965 Malibu SS 283 4spd 2bbl car. It had horsepower rating stickers on the valve covers for both 2bbl and 4bbl's I ended up putting a big Carter AFB on it.

1995 Cadillac El Dorado, man I loved that car but it had issues.
My current car is a 2003 Monte Carlo SS and is a great car

My Grandad worked for GM from the time he got back from WWII until he retired in about 1991. He also had a salvage yard for almost as long. He had some cars in it that I would love to have to restore and sell. Right before he died he sold the yard lock stock and barrel to some investors who were going to restore what they could and part out the rest.
Last time I poked around the yard there was:
6 or 7 58 Impala Coupes mostly with 348's, some with 3x2bbls
Several 65-67 Buicks
Several of the old Hemi Desotos
a LOT of Cadillacs of various vintages (Daddy loved Caddies)

"69 Plymouth Road Runner. 383 mag, 4 speed and almost no amenities. AM radio, standard (non power)brakes and steering. 8 3/4 " rear with 3.73 gears, 260 AC system. Was smoking a litttle when I bought it in '78. Drove the snot out of it for a couple years. It sat in the garage for about 15 yrs until the little lady convinced me that I would never get it back together. Now that the kids are all gone, I am making more money than I thought possible 25 years ago, I wish it was still in the garage!

My favorite car was a yellow *** 71 or 72 Toyota Corolla. It was my father's commuting car and I started driving it in 74 after we moved to a house where he could walk to the train station. It was the car I learned to drive a stick shift on. Even though it was an underpowered band- aid box with four small wheels it will always remain the car I recall most fondly of all the cars I've owned, not because of the kind of car it was, but probably because of the time of my life when I had it. From the Spring of my senior year in high school thru my first two years commuting to college. You never get those years back but you can revisit them in your minds eye.

Right now-it's any car that ill own-which is a Kia Cinco wagon hatchback. Still waiting to finalize stuff now.

Cars that I've had and wish I still did.
'64 GTO -my second car (first brand new). 389 (bored to 401), balanced, cam, etc. 4 speed, 4.33, metalflake paint.
'59 Pontiac Catalina -mild custom work.
'71 AMX -stock, but fun to drive.
'74 Dodge van -custom in and out.
'37 Plymouth Business Coupe - still have. Mostly original.

Would like to have.
'34 Plymouth Sedan.
'49-'51 Merc.
'58 Chevy Impala.
'53 Studebaker.
'59 Cadillac.
'58-'62 Corvette.

The first four photos are of my daily driver when Barbara and I went to the U. of Wyo. after retiring from the 'Force. The last photo is what I have left to remember the Big Ol' Honkin' Farm Truck since we moved up here.

1947 (first series, so a '46, really) Chevy 4400 1½-ton with a 14' grain bed. Bone stock original with 44k miles, 216 CID 6-banger, four speed, and every shift required a double clutch. 45 mph max. About 6 mpg. I bought it from the original family; last I knew it was doing duty as a landscaper's company truck in San Fran.

This is my favorite car. I never owned one, but I have driven several many years ago. I was cheated out of one, but that is a long story. A certain Deputy DA from Alameda County, California, named Campbell owes me a 1966, alloy, six carb.
