I might add a personal observation on early Mod. 66 no-dash guns..... For some reason many early 66's I owned and observed seemed to be very commonly equiped with unusually "orangeish" colored target football stocks. Much more so than the color found on other K and N frame football targets...

I love mine! They are destined to become a favorite revolver to all who own them... To produce the the 69 and the 66-8's were excellent decisions by S&W... Now! If they would just consider making the L frame in 41 Mag... For many of us that would "Make our day..."

There are several features that make the Mod. 27-2 my favorite S&W handgun... I'm no expert but I'll tell ya what I like.... I love the additional features found on this model that were indicative of fit finish and detail of S&W's of that era. Bright blueing, pinned barrels and recessed...

I have a large collection of S&W handguns.... The OP has asked about the 627PC and that naturally invites a comparison of both the 27 and the 627PC by those fortunate to own both... For me, both the 27-2 and the 627 PC are the two S&W handguns that everyone should own, especially with a 5"...

Here are two very early production examples of the 686's being discussed. This 6" was shipped with a highly uncommon pinned Patridge front blade. This 4" was shipped with a common integral red ramp (no pin).

Treeduck71... Here is a side-by-side size comparison of a J frame 2" Mod. 37 Airweight with a round butt beside a K frame 2" Mod. 10 with a square butt. Variations of both guns exist (ie. J frame 36, 37, 60, etc.) but the basic dimensions relating to frame size of both guns remain the same...

Welcome to the Forum, Brown1212.... It's becoming very uncommon to see a no-dash Mod. 66 with all the original extras. Box, paperwork, tools, etc... Be sure to keep them all intact with the gun... Viewing the picture you provided there are a few things that will have an impact on its value...
