grips will look into the Pachmayr Compacs, they look good and don't look to b e that much bigger than the factory. are they same type rubber compound as factory? do they slip on/fasten to frame?

cleaning possibly over oiling, not sure as i have not owned a pistol before. On that note the cleaner I use has oil in it so while cleaning it puts light oil on ramp,etc. do I just wipe that off or will it even be a problem? I add drop of oil at the 4 points of the slide only.

went to the range saturday and ran 50 rounds of 125 gr and 25 rds of 158 gr, noticable recoil difference but both managable. 1st time to shoot a revolver in YEARS so have some things to get used to(large hands)finger hitting other finger when trying to pull trigger and couple times got pinched...

update fast return on my sigma, shipped to smith on 2-09 and picked up from fed ex on 2-19. they sent paper stating that they replaced the extractor. I took to range saturday and ran 100 rds through it with no jams, time will tell and my cleaning/lube may have been part of problem. still like...

thanks after scooping/sanding it out have you noticted any discomfort while shooting? does the release hit your thumb upon recoil? i was concidering grooming on my stock grips.

i have a new all original 642 with factory grips,i have purchased a hks speed loader, it catches on the grips when trying to place shells, how do I cure this without mutalating my grips?

is there a smith and wesson that would be equivelant to the springfield xd 3", my Girfriend and I have narrowed the gun choses down to the xd 3" 9mm for her conceal carry,she is petite and has slight arthritice in the hands so she needs a light spring pull and we would prefer to stay in the 9mm...

ammo ammo has been variety of brands, round nose FMJ, bought the gun on 1-2-2010, we have shoot 325 rounds total through it and it has jammed during feeding and extraction 12 times during those shootings. i just shipped it off to S&W 1 hour ago for warrenty work for what looks to be a problem.

ammo? also I bought some monarch 158 gr. semi-jacketed hollow point for it(that is all they had). (1) how is that for shooting? (2) what would you recommend for practice? (3) what about conceal?

thanks i kinda like the size of the factory grips,but would like to find something a little more user friendly and covering the back strap kinda like the lcr ruger puts out, those grips didn't feel bad in the hand, but I like the s&w gun better.
