    Thinking of getting a 39

I would agree with an earlier poster, and say "Try it before you buy it" if possible. As far as grip comfort goes, I am in the minority. I don't have particularly big hands, but I prefer the feel of the grip on one of the hi-cap models. I'm only 40, but I'm starting to get pretty significant...

IMFDB (Internet Movie Firearms Database) is an indispensable source of info. Here is the page that has most any S&W you can imagine. Category:Gun - imfdb :. guns in movies :. movie guns :. the internet movie firearms database I have wasted many hours on this site. Not as many as here of course!

2nd and 3rd generation frames and slides

I've been playing around a bit with my pistols, and it seems that all of my 3rd generation slides and frames will swap around with no problem, and same with 2nd generation pistols. All 9mm by the way. However, when I try to put a 3rd generation slide on a 2nd generation frame, it seems like it...

    Double-struck logo on 459 frame

Thanks for all of the input. It isn't bothering me too much. I actually was at the range with it on Monday and it shoots very well. I was just wondering how common an occurrence this is. I did send a photo to S&W and they told me that due to the age of the pistol and the fact that it is used...

    Double-struck logo on 459 frame

Hi guys, I just recently acquired a model 459. Upon close examination after getting it home, I noticed that the logo / trademark appears to have been stamped and then overstamped. At first, I thought my not-so-new eyes were starting to play tricks on me and I just couldn't focus on it. But...

Has S&W ever sold pistol frames?

I understand the legal issues of the frame being, in the eyes of the government, the firearm itself. I've bought and sold quite a few guns on Gunbroker, and I used to have my C&R FFL. It's quite normal and popular to buy a 1911 frame through your local FFL, and build a pistol from the ground...

Has S&W ever sold pistol frames?

I've had a mostly complete parts set for a 3914 lying around here for a while. Every once in a while, I think it would be nice if it were a pistol and not just a pile of spare parts. Has there ever been a source for stripped S&W frames? Maybe it's not worth the trouble, but I've looked around...
