    Thought I would start a thread where people with unique Highway Patrolmen could show off their Guns. For example: Barrels longer than 6" or shorter than 4 inches / chrome, nickel or engraved finishes / Caliber conversions or any other oddities or factory rarities y'all have out there!:D

    I thought I would start a thread where people could show off their smooth/uncheckered wood grips mounted on S&W Revolvers. It seems the majority of grips are checkered and I happen to prefer the look and feel of the smooth finish. :D So here are my smoothies on my 28-2, both hailing from 1977.

    My 28-2 with Smooth Grips This is my M28-2. It was purchased new from a gun shop by my Dad in 1977 for approx $155 plus $20 for the oversize smooth grips. It is the 6" model with the original Satin Blue finish. Serial number is N2834XX. I have the original service grips numbered 282067, only...
