Mine was a month old when it jammed and ordered fresh from the factory as my dealer doesn't stock the model. The night it came home we stepped off the deck and fired off 1/2 a clip (I live on a ranch and can do those kinds of things...). How do I figure out the age of it? Just checked- SN DTZxxxx

When I confirmed my stovepipe jam, I was on a bench, pulling the trigger, watching the bolt, pulling the trigger if the bolt was closed, repeat. Very slowly- 1 shot every 5 seconds. After the first jam that blew the butt of the case apart, I got 3 stovepipes with a live round in the chamber in...

That would be...um....ME! :) I'm watching the poll. Haven't fired mine yet, so can't contribute.

Unless the firing OOB issue is fixed, I won't shoot it again and it will be for sale, likely here where the gun is known.

Like this? :( Case was still in chamber, so it was easy to find. Big LOUD noise, a little stuff hit my face. Rifle is currently in S&W's hand.

I'm in C. My rifle did the FTE and OOB thing with less than 400 rounds. Up to that point, it was flawless. Being new to AR's, this was a complete surprise to me- a jam, sure, but firing OOB, surprise! Contacted Smith/Wesson and my local gun shop (where I bought the gun) sent it back for me...
