for my blasting loads (150gr M2 loads) I run 48.0gr Varget which gets me almost right at 2800fps For my target or match loads I run 46.0gr Varget with the 168gr SMK both loads use CCI200 primers seated 0.003" below flush. Got my first EIC LEG points using a Garand a few years back :D

I run a XP-100 in 7mmIHMSA (300Savage necked down to 7mmmm) I full length resize every 4th or 5th reloading.

Fired the 100rnds of Federal with no problems and 100rnds of local manufactured 158gr SWC's... now to try my handloads...tomorrow.....

In my old Colt King Cobra 6" SS and my 4" 686, I use 6.0gr 231 with a 158gr LaserCast... wonderfull accuracy....

ok.. yet another update.. got the return label on the Dec.7th and sent it off on the 8th.. got a letter from S&W on the 17th stating that they received my handgun and to expect it to be returned in 2-3 weeks.... and just a few hours ago.. got a call from FedEx that my 686 is on it's way and will...

it was announced in my local paper that the National Pearl Harbor Survivors Assn. will hold it's very last meeting tomorrow and will disband after that as there aren't enough survivors left alive to make it worthwhile to continue... sad :(

the problem occured as soon as I first fired the gun with factory ammo.. as stated in my first post this primer burn through occurs with factory AND my handloads and ANY primer I have used (CCI, Federal, Winchester, Remington) as for my loadings, I use 6.0gr 231 with a 158gr SWC Laser cast...

ok.. been a few weeks and a update.. I FINALLY called S&W Wednesday the 30th and explained the problem.. I was asked the serial number and before I could barely get out the last digit of the s/n they said the want the gun sent in asap.... and they are sending me a shipping label.....hhmmm...

bi-pods are becoming almost a requirement for range equipment now-a-days since a lot of ranges don't have sandbag rest or even a block of wood to use as a rest..

I've been buying from Midway for 25yrs now and have been using my C&R for the last 4 years to get the dealer discounts.. but I will agree on the back order shipping charges...one should be charged only one shipping charge on the total order...
