The rebound slide is sticking and not returning to its normal position. It could be a weak rebound spring or the slide is binding somehow. A trip to a gunsmith is in order unless you are well versed in disassembly and correcting the problem.

I found that Super Vel brass is very soft and has a tendency to crush while bullet seating. That brass is a candidate for taking to the recyclers and selling for scrap value.

Primer slide has to be kept clean, especially on the underside. Also clean the surface under the slide by removing the slide. I lube the surface that the slide rides on with powdered graphite. Can't comment on dirty primer residue from the spent cases but, never had a problem with that on my...

I installed an Apex kit in a 637 and a 642. Did not like the Apex rebound spring and reinstalled the stock rebound spring in both. DA pull on both was lightened, especially on the 642!

Get a Lewis Lead remover. It drags a bronze patch through the bore and removes the lead on the way. Use it before you use any other cleaning solution, when you return from shooting and most of the lead will be removed. Then clean via conventional methods.

My 642-2 is easy to conceal. One must practice in order to develop any kind of accuracy. It is not necessarily pleasant to shoot but repeated shooting range time improves accuracy. Factory grips are ideal size for concealment. Anything larger makes concealment more difficult.

+1 on the taper crimp. You should do this on your loads for semi-autos as well.
