    Model 30 S&W Long

Thanks K9 Rex. I haven't seen it yet but he said he should be able to free it up. I'll pass the info on to him. I told him it probably would make a good project gun to refinish with Duracoat because I know he will never get rid of it. I've already asked! Thanks again.

    Model 30 S&W Long

I have a friend that called today and said he'd found a model 30 in his grandmother's old house. She passed away 9 years ago and they never knew she even had a gun but found it hidden under and loose stone in the fireplace! The gun is locked up tight with rust but he says he thinks he can...

Value of a very good to excellent 13-1

As I stated in my post, he wanted $400 a week ago. It was in a pawn shop and they don't like for things to sit long. I just got lucky and it was still there when I went back a week later and got it for the $325!

Advise on Carbonia Blue touch -up.

I agree. Leave it alone. I would never try to refinish a gun unless it was to far gone to hold ANY value.

    I bought the 13-1

Well guys, I bought the 13-1 that I posted about a week ago. The guy at the pawn shop wanted $400 out the door for it. Well, I went back that afternoon and tryed talking him down and had no luck. He was stuck like glue! So I said it wasn't meant to be owned by me and walked out the door...

    S&W Model 13-1

Thanks for your help guys. The $400 sounded alittle steep to me also. I will go back this afternoon and see if he'll come off that price. If not, then it wasn't meant for me to own it. I'll keep ya posted!

    S&W Model 13-1

Oh no. I don't mean to lock it way. All my S&Ws are shooters. I just keep them there until the next range visit! The thing is, Ive looked the internet over and cant find anything to really compare it to. Theres just not that may 13s out there for sale or either I can't find them.

    S&W Model 13-1

Came across a blued, 4" barrel S&W model 13-1 in the local pawn shop today. He's asking $400 out the door. The grips are not the prettest Ive ever seen but the gun is in nice shape. The action is tight but the finish has some holster wear. I haven't found alot of info on this model and was...

    Before and After Pictures

Thanks guys. Im not trying to promote Duracoat by any means, as this was my first attempt to do this. I'll have to see how it holds up to wear and cleaning before I really make up my mind if I'd do it again. I was just thinking that I could buy some really nice shooters at a cheep price...

    Before and After Pictures

Those are the original grips. I didn't do anything to them except clean them with a toothbush and some furniture polish. Then wiped them down really good. The lighting in those before pictures makes them look darker. The cleaning nor the polish really made that much difference.

    Before and After Pictures

I picked up a Model 36 a few weeks ago at the local pawn shop for $280. The bluing was bad on one side from sitting in a foam lined box. I figured it would make a good project gun to try the Duracoat Firearm Finish on. I also polished the hammer and the trigger. I think it turned out great...
